Job summary
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented and passionate user experience designer to join our growing design and research studio. This designer will support Amazon Textract service. The team is responsible for innovating and building solutions that goes beyond simple optical character recognition (OCR) to identify, understand, and extract data from forms and tables.
Throughout the strategy, design, and development lifecycle, the designer will work collaboratively with a strong design team, engineers, product managers and executives in a highly visible role interfacing directly with our customers.
The ideal candidate for this role will have experience designing applied artificial intelligence or machine learning applications, and will have a portfolio of work that can highlight examples.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
+ 4+ years of design experience
+ An available online portfolio
+ Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
+ Experience with Figma, Photoshop, Sketch, Flinto, Adobe XD, InVision, or their functional equivalents
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working in direct collaboration with product, development managers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Design experience on mobile and web devices.
Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
Fluency in best practices for information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques.
Demonstrated history of acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps..
Experience working in a collaborative, diverse team, working directly with software engineers, product managers, researchers and marketers.
Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar.
