Software Engineering Director

Our client is a leading software vendor in the Telecommunications and Broadcast Media space.


The Software Engineer Director is responsible for all Engineering resources and their deliverables.


Engineering will be responsible for the planning, estimation, risk mitigation, and execution of successful projects to deliver new products. The role will manage a team of 100+ people spread across North America, Europe, and India (mostly in India). global engineering team, with teams spread across India. Europe and USA. The teams cover R&D (dev, architecture) and Product Management and Support (managing a globally disbursed team is a must).





The Head of Engineering will oversee the execution of the products and take responsibility for driving the evolution of the engineering function, specifically:? Owning product architecture/technology framework evolution with Product Management? Assessing team composition, capability and producing an organizational strategy? Execution to deliver on the organizational strategy? Assessment of processes, practices, and automation to produce an improvement strategy and subsequent execution? String focus on productivity? Prepared to get really into details? Measuring and driving for the highest level of quality across all products





Work Experience Requirements:? Extensive experience in a Software Product organisation at an executive leadership level? Extensive experience of driving efficiency gains in a product engineering organisation? Extensive experience of leading large teams (100+ engineers)? Extensive experience of driving engineering transformation programs; e.g. Agile, Cloud, DevOps? Experience of engineering best practices and automation to drive optimal efficiency? Experience of multiple methods of measuring engineering throughput and quality? Experience of a variety of software models; e.g. SaaS, OnPremise, Cloud? Educated to degree level.? Strong presentation skills
