Senior Data Engineer, AI Infrastructure

NVIDIA is hiring senior distributed systems with a data engineering emphasis to develop and scale its AI and deep learning platforms. Our team is building a software 2.0 developer platform with a focus on datasets for AI application development.

Together, we will advance NVIDIA's capacity to build and deploy leading solutions for a broad range of AI-based applications such as autonomous vehicles, healthcare, virtual reality, graphics engines and visual computing. Together, with NVIDIA partners, we will bring autonomous vehicles to life!

What you'll be doing:

* Architect and build scalable and distributed high performance compute and data pipelines that will help power the AI infrastructure for deep learning.

* Design and build PB sized scalable data lake and structured data query interfaces and microservices to ingest, index, mine, transform, and compose PB sized deep learning datasets.

* Build and implement support for versioned, traceable, and immutable datasets in a data lake in a distributed and scalable manner.

* Enable efficient and smart data selection - one of the key ingredients for successful machine learning!

* Spend a majority of the time hands-on writing code and peer reviewing high performance, high quality, and well tested and well architected code.

* Collaborate with multiple AI product teams to understand their data and compute requirements (cars, healthcare, etc.). Build support infrastructure to improve developer productivity.

* Collaborate with AI applied researchers and leaders to build future-proof infrastructure using new technologies.

What we need to see:

* Bachelors (or equivalent experience) or Masters in Computer Architecture, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related data intensive Engineering Degree.

* 10+ years of proven experience designing and developing production level software that includes working with distributed systems, backend microservices architecture, and heterogeneous data types at scale.

* Built and orchestrated at scale business critical data clusters, infrastructure, services, and ETL pipelines in a cloud environment.

* Strong programming background that incorporates methodologies like data structures, design patterns, OOP, and test driven development.

* A specialist programmer in Go, C/C++, Scala, SQL, or equivalent.

* A technical authority with strong experience in traditional data engineering technologies, databases, analytics, and common architectures.

* Ability to craft technical design requirements and architecture in an agile environment to deliver production grade at scale systems.

* Collaborating with multiple teams to collect and process large amounts of data, deploying, upgrading, migrating, and driving user adoption of sophisticated enterprise scale systems.

* Highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills, you have the ability to work successfully with multi-functional teams, principles and architects and coordinate effectively across organizational boundaries and geographies.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

* Advanced expertise in MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, Presto, Spark.

* Experience with structured data such as Avro, Parquet, Protobuf, Thrift, and concepts like schema evolution.

The Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act requires that NVIDIA provide the compensation range and benefits offered for this position if performed in Colorado. The base salary range for this position in Colorado is $190,,350.00 USD.

Base pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related reasons.
