Network Infrastructure Specialist

ALTIVIA is looking for a Network Infrastructure Specialist to join our IT department. This position will be responsible for maintaining the company's WAN/LAN infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, and switches, and the server infrastructure, including both physical and virtual server and storage platforms. This position will work closely with the company's network administrator to design, deploy and maintain a robust backup solution for all managed systems. This position will also provide support for escalated technical issues from within the IT department and support end users when necessary. The role will report to the Director - Corporate IT and will be onsite at our corporate office in downtown Houston. Responsibilities: + Deploy and maintain all corporate firewalls, routers, switches, and VMWare ESX environments. + Resolve technical issues with networks, hardware, and software - might be redundant. + Document design and operational changes to the network. + Monitor the core infrastructure for faults and maintain uptime and system performance. + Provide input and participate in strategic planning sessions. + Help define and establish standard and advanced infrastructure administration functions. Requirements + Associate Degree and equivalent IT certifications and practical experience. CCNA Preferred + Must pass a TSA security threat assessment (background check) and be approved for a TWIC card. + Ability to work a 40-hour-per-week schedule Monday-Friday, with occasional overtime as needed. + Must respond outside of regular working hours in an emergency. + Can demonstrate strong knowledge of configuring Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco and Dell network switches. + 2+ years of experience deploying and supporting virtualization environments, particularly with VMware ESX/vSphere. + Can demonstrate strong knowledge of backup and disaster recovery best practices. + Administration experience with Microsoft 365. + Basic understanding of badge access systems. + Proficiency in DNS, DHCP, and other naming services. + Expertise in TCP/IP network design/support, routing protocols, and best security practices.
