Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Network Infrastructure Engineer in Plano, TX. A Network Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and securing the network of an organization. The individual performs site surveys and audits to ensure that the organization's network site has the proper specifications. Network Infrastructure Engineer Responsibilities:
Design, implement, troubleshoot, and document network security infrastructures and related systems.
Monitor and evaluate systems to ensure stability and performance of all servers (physical and virtual) and their associated operating systems and software at on-site and off-site data centers.
Drive network architectural decisions.
Provide support including troubleshooting and resolving network, server and connectivity related issues in a timely manner.
Execute and plan scheduled maintenance (applying security patches, tuning changes, firmware upgrades, etc.) such that it minimizes impact to the business.
Facilitate any network or operational modifications needed as a result of security audits or vulnerability reports
Assess network and security infrastructure architecture and document findings and recommendations based on industry best practices.
Automate internal processes in order ensure adherence to security policy.
Proactively recommend practical network and operational security improvements.
User / group account maintenance (Active Directory)
Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats, attack trends, technologies, and industry developments.
Evangelize for security and best network practices within the organization.
Mentor Junior staff.
Network Infrastructure Engineer Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Networking, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience in network and infrastructure support and administration (minimum 5 years)
MCP, MCSE certifications a plus.
Experience with Dell Servers
Experience with configuration management systems
Experience working with Ubiquiti Switches, Access points, security cameras
Working knowledge of host and network security
Good verbal, written communication, problem-solving skills
Passion and enthusiasm for security and building secure products
Maintaining computer networks including mainframes, VPNs, routers and other physical hardware
Installing and configuring network equipment
Creating firewalls and updating virus protection software and data security systems to keep data and communications protected
Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for all systems
Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management
Implementing disaster recovery procedures
Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems
