The Data Network Engineer III is a member of the Edge Site Network Engineering Team supporting Huntington's Edge Sites (Branch and Back Office) network environments. This team is responsible for all research, project design, and implementation of networking technologies as well as ongoing configuration and environment standards. This role focus on the design, implementation, and support of all wireless network infrastructure across Huntington's footprint. Additionally, this role will have exposure to additional Edge site technologies such as 5G, SDWAN, VNS, Cloud, Mobile Edge Computing, and more.
+ This role will be responsible for overall design, engineering, build and test activities related to Wireless Wifi environments.
+ Platform evaluations
+ Create technical design documents and implementation plans
+ Work with the security organization to assess exposure, identify mitigation plans, and ensure compliance with all relevant security configuration standards
+ Provide escalation support for the network operations team
+ Provide input to enterprise network design standards and maintain documentation
+ Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the WiFi network
+ Provide guidance on predictive studies and pre/post deployment surveys, analysis around optimal placement of WAPs and recommended settings to meet requirements for coverage, performance, capacity, and resiliency.
+ This includes, but is not limited to, data center technologies, edge site design, firewall technologies, access control methodologies, and product evaluation/selection.
+ Bachelor's Degree in IT field of study
+ 7 years of hands-on large scale Enterprise network deployment and configuration.
+ 5 years of hand-on experience in network security technologies.
+ Financial Services background a plus.
+ Ability to execute on IT project initiatives with minimal oversight.
+ Ability to work both as a team and independently to accomplish goals.
+ Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) with ability to create runbook documentation and operational/implementation turn-over support of new technologies.
+ Experience in network design and routing/switching configuration
+ Working knowledge of IP routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP
+ Knowledge of the OSI model, including TCP/IP, client/server designs, routing protocols (including but not limited to OSPF, EIGRP, BGP)
+ Knowledge of LAN technologies (including but not limited to Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, Spanning Tree)
+ Expertise in WLAN technologies including 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax 2.4g 5ghz Wifi 6
+ Fundamental knowledge of security protocols and authentication (WPA2, EAP-TLS, 802.1x, AAA) and hands-on experience with RADIUS infrastructure (Cisco ISE)
+ Experience deploying QoS in LAN/WLAN environments in support of multimedia and voice applications
+ Experience working in an Agile environment
