Job Summary

The IOT Engineer III is responsible for supporting activities such as requirements gathering, definition, and application/test/implementation of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) projects; primarily, but not limited to, the medical device industries. Also, participates with cross-functional linked teams and vendors to design, architect and implement factory automation solutions. Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, applications and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop Factory System solutions using C++, .NET, SQL Server, Java
  • Test existing manufacturing tools for SECS/GEM or OPC capability
  • Work with internal IT team for setup and maintenance of systems to enable automation
  • Work with external vendors in developing automation solutions and resolving issues
  • Contribute to the testing and implementation of MES solutions
  • Interact with engineers and manufacturing personnel for MES enhancements and automation application requirements
  • Provide maintenance support such as troubleshooting and problem analysis for internal manufacturing applications
  • Develop document and conduct training for all MES and/or automation solutions developed
  • Documenting, testing and verifying changes related to factory execution systems
  • Perform user acceptance testing of new software and assure smooth rollout
  • Cross train with other team members in related applications
  • Develop detailed designs, implement, troubleshoot and test scenarios for MES solutions that meet predefined requirements following Quality Management Standards
  • Develop documentation including creation of test scripts required for validated facilities


  • Accredited Engineering Degree - BSCS/BSEE or related degree
  • 4-6 years programming experience
  • C++, Microsoft .NET, MS SQL Server including creation and tuning of stored procedures
  • Develop .NET Winforms and Web services. WPF a plus.
  • Multi-threading
  • SQL Server database knowledge
  • Version control using Microsoft TFS
  • Gather requirements, effort estimation, design, development, unit testing, and deployment.
  • Work with vendors and resolve issues
  • Detail oriented and desire to make continuous improvements
  • Willing to learn new applications/technologies
  • Demonstrated proficiency with requirements analysis and documentation
  • Machine Learning
  • Experience with ISO, FDA, or other regulated product development environments strongly desired
  • Experience with regulatory/compliance documentation and procedures is a plus


  • MES project implementation experience in a Life Sciences including workflows, equipment management and materials management
  • ERP or Quality Systems integration
  • Knowledgeable in FDA validation requirements including: User Requirement and Design Specs, Business Process Procedures, Design Reviews, Requirements gathering,
  • Understanding of manufacturing statistical process controls (SPC)
  • Understanding of data analysis
  • Outstanding communication and documentation skills
  • Team work and cooperative attitude
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 25lbs with or without accommodations
