Role brief:Hybrid working - 3 / 2 daysMy client is a global training provider looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join their IT Team. The business is going through an exciting time of growth following further investment. As a result, an exciting IT project pipeline lies ahead including new location integrations, infrastructure improvements, system upgrades, web systems, business applications and more. This is a permanent role for the ideal candidate to join the team and be part of both day-to-day operations and an ongoing business improvement plan.The IT division supports staff in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with domestic and international staff. You will cover a range of functional tasks supporting Global operations.Due to the global nature of the role, some domestic and international travel may be required from time to time. This will be required to support office relocations, acquisition integrations, hardware/network upgrades etc. The successful candidate will be the face of IT and thus should be very customer focused and approachable.An exciting range of projects includes new services and applications, new office locations (both acquired and newly built), AWS optimisation, new monitoring services, single sign on projects and other AD enhancements. Responsibilities:
  • Management and support of AWS and VMWare ESXi infrastructure
  • Management and monitoring of all servers, services and backup solutions
  • Management and support of firewall services
  • Management and support of VOIP solution
  • Troubleshooting, performing root cause analysis (RCA) and preventative maintenance
  • Estate and infrastructure management - updating and managing OS / patch management across the server environment
  • Managing external suppliers and vendors as required,
  • Interacting with and supporting both local and international Development and Project Management teams
Technical Experience:The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience with:
  • Microsoft Server 2016 / 2012
  • Awareness of other services such as Backup technologies, SSO, External DNS, VMware ESXi
  • AWS / cloud server management
  • Office 365 service integration
  • Meraki Technology (Firewalls and Wireless AP s)
  • Supporting remote and multi-national locations
  • VOIP systems
  • Replication technology awareness
