Team Overview

Visa's Digital Partnerships, FinTech & Ventures team is responsible for originating, structuring and negotiating, and executing regional strategic partnerships/alliances, and bespoke commercial deals with the world's leading digital brands. The team is at the forefront of driving meaningful revenue contribution to Visa across the entire digital ecosystem in Latin America. Digital Partnerships works closely with Visa's Product, Sales, Finance, and MSA teams to lead and oversee commercial transactions that are typically highly complex, strategic, and cross-functional in nature. Additionally, the team drives pipeline development, evaluation, and commercial agreements with companies that are well positioned for investment through Visa Ventures, and spearheads our FinTech client segment in the region in close alignment with in-market FinTech teams. The Digital Partnerships team operates globally, covering each of Visa's key regions including North America, Latin America, Asia Pacific, Europe, and Central Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Job Description

The Senior Director, Head of Regional FinTech is a senior-level highly visible and strategic leadership role that will serve as a key leader in driving Visa's regional FinTech initiatives, in close alignment with in-market teams and cross-functionals stakeholders, and their teams.

Develop and own the regional fintech strategy for Visa LAC, ensuring that the HUB/markets are focused on strategic, value-adding opportunities to drive FinTech segment revenue.

Spearhead new business development opportunities (originating, structuring, executing) with high-growth LAC FinTech and digital commerce companies, and any other digitally-enabled company, to drive Visa payment volume, open acceptance opportunities, drive consumption of Visa products/solutions/capabilities (e.g., Visa Direct, VAS, etc.).

Develop and execute Visa's regional FinTech ecosystem engagement strategy to ensure Visa's brand is competitively positioned with founders, investors, ecosystem platforms, the media, etc.

Serve as a subject matter expert internally and externally on the global/LAC FinTech ecosystem, understanding regional trends across FinTech verticals, venture capital environment, emerging FinTech models, etc.

Establish and expand senior level relationships with startup founders/management teams, investors, and key industry stakeholders that provide greater visibility and opportunities for Visa's commercial efforts within the space.

Build, develop, coach, and lead a strong and passionate team to advance Visa's FinTech agenda in LAC.

Assess opportunities to enhance the commercial processes, frameworks, business development approach to more effectively compete within the ecosystem, demonstrate Visa value.

Identify and engage with next-gen ecosystem players (e.g., BaaS) across the financial services and digital commerce value chain with which Visa can partner, invest, or acquire.

Engage with cross-functional (MSA, Product, Legal, Processing, etc.) and far-flung teams to ensure that FinTech, and Ventures initiatives are structured and executed within scope and on time.

Constantly scan and assess the market for potential venture and M&A opportunities that can strengthen Visa's digital/FinTech value proposition for clients.

Develop and strengthen relationships with GCMs/CMs and local team across LAC, particularly the New Business Development team, to understand local market conditions and develop strategies to capitalize on emerging opportunities.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.
