Summary of Position The Director, IT Infrastructure and Operations, reporting to the Vice President of IT, is accountable for a service strategy and operations that is aligned with MacroGenics strategic objectives. Infrastructure & Operations is critical to supporting MacroGenics growth strategy in areas such as commercial manufacturing, commercial excellence, and research & development. The Director will develop a high performing team to deliver a resilient technology infrastructure, capabilities which improve productivity and collaboration, and establish a service catalogue to be responsive to functional demand. He/she will be a member of the Information Technology Leadership Team. Reporting to the Vice President of IT, he/she will use their proven leadership, knowledge, and experience to deliver high-quality execution and operational excellence necessary to support a dynamic global biopharmaceutical business. The leader must engage with a business and customer focused mindset and communication style which enables MacroGenics to fully leverage the service offering. Responsibilities and Job Duties Partners, collaborates, and develops strong relationships within Information Technology functional leaders to understand technology infrastructure needs in support of corporate strategy, corporate objectives, and major functional objectives. Ensures the strategy and infrastructure operating model (organization, talent, employees, vendors, processes, technologies) addresses MacroGenics immediate and long-term business needs and is synergistic with the overall IT strategy. Proactively manages capacity, technology life cycle, effectiveness, and delivery of key services. Directs and oversee all IT operations. Ensures proper staffing leveraging Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and regular employees. Manage demand and delivery through internal teams, suppliers, and partners through a portfolio of services, projects, operational processes, and metrics. Provides and manages the Help Desk (Tier 1), Tier 2, and Tier 3 technical support. Develops and maintains 2 year rolling roadmaps that optimally reflect business strategic objectives, efficient sequencing, resources, and funding. Evolves the service catalogue that clearly communicates infrastructure services available to stakeholders, profiling demand to better align with service offerings, and supported by clearly defined Service Level Agreements (SLA) for service delivery. Relentless focus on improving productivity and collaboration of MacroGenics workforce through the deployment and support of new and/or improved processes and technologies. Partners with IT leaders to develop and maintain an enterprise technical architecture that is based upon cloud and external services. Utilizes best practices, structured approaches, and architecture standards for evaluating, designing, and implementing services/solutions to meet requirements for functionality, performance, availability, scalability, security, and disaster recovery; proactively manage performance of key vendors and third parties. Implements policies, procedures, automation, and controls for consistent delivery of high availability services in a cost-effective manner. Ensures operational resilience and stability of IT infrastructure services Implements integrated and automated processes that drive operational excellence, be audit ready at all times, sustain knowledge continuity through appropriate level of documentation and cross training. Partners with counterparts in other functional areas to implement and operationalize controls necessary for security, GxP, SOX, and internal policies. Develops and continuously maintains budgets that align with plans and service levels; proactively improve value over cost ratio. Recruits, develops, and leads an IT operations and infrastructure team. Ensures that compliance and security considerations are embedded in the culture and service delivery. Maintains pulse of technology trends and looks for opportunities to introduce innovative capabilities to drive business value. Minimum Qualifications Education & Other Credentials Bachelor's degree in Management Information Services or a related field Experience 10 years of highly relevant work experience. Three years of experience supervising others and managing a team, managing recruitment and selection of new hires, managing performance and behavior of others, coaching, training and developing people. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Solid IT infrastructure experience and understating with extensive day-to-day IT operations experience. Proven people skills in managing IT staff and multiple IT teams. Be able to articulate and communicate thoughts, ideas, proposals and directly reporting to Senior IT Leadership. Strong time management skills. Ability to adapt and efficiently work with rapidly shifting priorities. Experience managing large-scale portfolio and projects in a team-oriented matrixed organizational environment. Help Desk experience with understanding of network concepts. Familiarity with federal regulations, guidance, and compliance requirements related to computerized systems.
