Director, Data Center Infrastructure Build (JoinOCI-Leader)

Job Description With the ongoing expansion of our business, we are hiring a leader to join the Datacenter Infrastructure Build organization. This is a high impact role that will lead a highly motivated team through the end-to-end lifecycle required to successfully deliver the next generation of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Our team ensures the on time, on budget and on schedule construction and delivery of data centers for OCI. This includes white space construction, tenant improvements and data center fit out through general availability. Some key detailed accountabilities include tracking financials, bid analysis, contract negotiations, award of contracts, purchasing and tracking materials as well as overseeing the onsite construction/fit out work. The ideal candidate demonstrates the ability to dive deep on infrastructure build issues, oversee construction management and manage data center builds; they can also inspire and nurture a global team, demonstrate system level thinking and drive process improvements as well as support their team throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities Responsibilities: + Manage a diverse team of Technical Program Managers; coaching, mentoring, and leading the team while providing opportunities for career growth + Provide program and project management expertise to complex business initiatives that are global in nature, understanding dependencies and accounting for complexity relative to scope/schedule and budgets + Develop partnerships with vendors and distributors and identify opportunities to improve purchasing and delivery timelines + Build relationships and collaborate globally with stakeholders and partners to deliver outcomes across the organization, ensuring a shared understanding of progress and performance + Ensure that stated and unstated goals, business issues, concerns and priorities are surfaced and understood + Seek opportunities to bring about ongoing improvement and simplification in business operating procedures and practices leading to improved effectiveness of the organization + Track and manage priorities and committed actions to drive progress and provide actionable insights. + Travel up to 25% in support of datacenter builds Basic Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Technology, Project Management, Construction Management or proven technical equivalent experience. + 10+ years of experience directly managing, mentoring, and leading a team + 10+ years of experience with outside vendor management, stakeholder relationship management, and delivering complex technology projects Preferred Qualifications + Direct experience leading teams in the data center infrastructure build space + Experience with structure cabling and managing cabling vendors + Understands data center electrical and mechanical design systems + Proven ability to create effective relationships, listen, influence, and collaborate at all levels of an organization + Ability to inspire confidence in executive leaders and motivate global team members + Experience leading through ambiguity; proven track record of implementing solutions that improve delivery + Excellent communication skills including high quality written communications and the ability to articulate complex information in a simple way + Outstanding cross-group collaboration skills and proven ability to partner across teams + Program/project management certifications or qualifications with proven ability to deliver complex programs + Strong business acumen as well as proven ability to apply that knowledge to inform strategy, balance priorities and drive efficiencies such as speed of execution or cost optimization + Demonstrated ability to think from a business/outcome perspective and translate that into executable delivery and clear accountabilities + A career learner - ability to demonstrate a growth mindset Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated location(s) California Pay Range: from $156,700 to $313,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral. Colorado Pay Range: from $148,000 to $282,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral. New York City Pay Range: from $148,000 to $297,900 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral. Washington Pay Range: from $165,400 to $297,900 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
