Your Role and Responsibilities

Preference to hire in one of the following cities with flexibility to reside in reasonable commutable distance: San Diego CA, San Francisco CA, Santa Clara CA, Los Angeles CA, San Jose CA.

IBM is looking for a Data and AI Portfolio Sales Representative to accelerate the growth of our flagship software platforms - Cloud Pak for Data and our Watson AI Applications portfolio. The role has unlimited potential and is highly focused on driving strategic signings with our clients to adopt and expand Cloud Pak for Data across their enterprise, and to deliver line of business focused solutions across the entire c suite. You will work closely with our clients to help them modernize their existing IBM workloads as well as to drive demand for net new workloads on our platform. In your role, you will utilize your ideas to help capture market share for IBM by working closely with sales, product management, and engineering executives to properly align our strategy.

You will be responsible for:

* Achieving quarterly sales targets by working with the America's executive sales team

* Business development activities that build & develop pipeline on a four-quarter rolling basis across your territory

* Customer enablement to evangelize IBM's Data & AI offerings within their organization

* Becoming a trusted advisor to our clients by helping them understand the value of Cloud Pak for Data and why modernizing to a hybrid cloud model supports a long-term business strategy.

* Developing and executing GTM sales strategies that captures market share from competitors and accelerates growth in green fields.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

* Strong ability to set goals and targets with organization and self management to achieve within quarterly time lines.
* Performance driven - Ability to own your own growth strategies and understanding that pipeline generation is fundamental to your success.
* Ability to lead and collaborate with several teams within IBM and partners both internally and externally.
* Direct, face to face customer care or sales experience.
* 1+ years of experience in Data Science or Data Analytics field.
* Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
* Motivated, and a strong desire to be coached and train in the Data & AI solution set.
* Ability to work across industry verticals and drive customized go to market strategies as needed to build pipeline and win new business.
* Ability to establish client value propositions that tie key strategic, financial, and operational metrics directly to near and long-term business improvement.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

* Industry knowledge of IBM competitors in the Data & AI market.
* General knowledge of Data & AI and unique perspective on how to compete within it.
* Prior experience selling Data & AI services.
* 2+ years of direct, face to face customer care or sales experience.
