About the Program

Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBM) develops, designs, produces, maintains, and replenishes submarine-launched ballistic missiles capable of flying more than 4,000 nautical miles with a full payload. FBM is a reliable program that has been a part of the United States for over 60 years (History) with many years to come. Our FBM program integrates advanced tech in propellants, micro-electronics, and weight-reducing material design to increase accuracy, flight distance, and overall product capability. FBM is much more than rocket science (though we have plenty of that too). Men and women all across the country are needed in support equipment design, quality assurance, assembly & manufacturing, and many other technical and non-technical disciplines.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing and mitigating system security risks throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Develops cybersecurity risk assessments by analyzing system level threats and vulnerabilities, calculating their likelihood of occurrence, determining applicable mitigating factors and the effectiveness of the applied countermeasures.
  • Performs cybersecurity system requirements analysis to include: initial allocation, interpretation, decomposition and validation by translating company, DoD, and Navy policy and guidance into system level requirements.
  • Determines, documents and briefs risk vs. cost trade off analysis to customer and company management regarding the results of security requirements validation, identify gaps in policy and/or procedures, and categorizes the expected effort required for remediation and compliance.
  • Establishes system security designs and provides subject matter expertise for the generation and execution of computer and network security assessments/validations.
  • Analyzes, interprets and documents the results of the assessments for compliance with the applicable cybersecurity guiding documents.

Basic Qualifications:

  • DoD Top Secret government security clearance.
  • Demonstrated professional experience supporting Information Security System Engineering (ISSE) activities.
  • Experience in determining and system hardening via implementation of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Proficiency in multiple platforms to include Windows, Linux/Unix and Networking equipment.
  • IAT II or higher certification.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with cybersecurity of embedded systems
  • DOD 8570 IASAE Level 3 Certification (CISSP-ISSAP/ISSEP)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree.
  • Ability to collaborate with highly technical teams.
  • Ability to translate highly technical information into language that fosters decision-making for senior business leaders.
  • Project Managements skills such as Earned Valued Management, Costs/Schedules, etc.
