Provide support to the AEGIS Technical Representative Moorestown, NJ for security and cyber information controls support for the AEGIS Combat System (ACS) development and test platforms. Overview and Responsibilities:
• Work independently to perform research and understand requirements and controls for securing sophisticated equipment and software as part of information systems• Review and apply guidance documents and technical specifications for accuracy, applicability and information system requirement content• Provide verification and validation for the security controls used to securely operate equipment and software in test site installations• As assigned, develop or validate processes based on guidance documents and methods, add details to the process and follow to closure leading to authority to operate information systems in a secure environment• Provide input and develop detailed reports based on assessments and monitoring of information systems security• Recommend process revisions as a means to improve authorization timeliness• Isolate defects based on security scans and follow items to closure• Provide and present technical briefs to Customers• Participate in meetings and discuss observations and other comments• Work independently, or as necessary, lead teams pursuing the above tasks as group projects
• Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) oversight of information security performance for US Navy test sites in the Moorestown NJ area• Apply knowledge of STIGs and NIST documents to ensure correct assembly of packages supporting the authority to operate secure information systems• Participate in Risk Management Framework process activities including steps necessary to assess security controls, support the authorization to operate for information systems and monitor the effectiveness of security controls.• Periodically review status and maintain awareness of authority expirations and prioritize actions to ensure timely processing of packages• Witness and document security scans and provide assessment of performance to the Customer• Provide recommendations to improve the effectiveness of processes used to obtain authority to operate for information systems in support of the development and test of ACS software and hardware.
Required Education and experience:
Education requirement is a Bachelor's of Science Degree in an STEM-based discipline with a minimum of 6 years direct work experience, or a Master's Degree with 2 years relevant experience• Experience in live scans of information system software or hardware• Use of automated tools to analyze information systems under review or scans and present results• Experience may include development or application of cyber-based test methods in related fields such as control systems and some undergraduate studies• Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint• Excellent oral and written communication skills• Experience providing leadership to small teams
