Job Description: Parsons works on top level cyber security for national defense programs and is hiring early stage Software Engineers with a focus on research, innovation and solving mission critical challenges. We need our Software Engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to tackle new challenges across the full stack as we continue to push security forward. Parsons Software Engineers analyze, design, and develop computer software required to support hardware or technical service products. The successful candidate will review system architecture, and select and implement appropriate development and support tools to ensure product performance, as well as test and debug related software. We are focused on providing our customers expertise to leverage their existing software and create new capabilities. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Security, Information Technology, or related discipline Proof of US Citizenship is required Ability to obtain DoD Top Secret security clearance 2+ years of Software Engineering experience 2+ years of Big Data Platform (BDP) experience 2+ years Linux experience Experience deploying applications and services to the BDP as Rapid Deployable Artifacts (RDAs) Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues in the BDP Experience with Linux Containers and Kubernetes Proficient with Linux scripting (Bash, Python, Groovy, or equivalent) Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to identify and mitigate security Desired Qualifications: Strong Linux troubleshooting skills Experience developing in AWS GovCloud or another cloud service provider Experience with Puppet and Ansible Experience with distributed platforms (Kafka, Zookeeper, Hadoop, HDFS, - Spark, Storm, Apache NiFi) Experience in computer networking (networking protocols such as DNS, DHCP, and HTTP, and command line tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, and ping) Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Not Applicable/None This position is part of our Federal Solutions team.
