Job Description
The Associate Director IT Infrastructure will possess a strong technical infrastructure experience a strong project management capability and excellent vendor management with a service oriented approach to infrastructure operations. The Associate Director is responsible for operational and service management processes that ensure quality, efficiency and agility. As a member of the IT leadership team, the position contributes to the overall IT strategy and aligns business strategy with delivery of capabilities to achieve business objectives.
Reports to: Sr. Director, Information Technology
Location: Thousand Oaks, CA (Hybrid/Flex) or Remote with west coast hours
Travel: up to 20%. Up to 30% if Remote
Responsibilities
Set the vision for infrastructure operations driven by continuous improvement methodologies
Development of infrastructure strategy and roadmap in alignment with overall IT strategic plan
Collaborates with extended IT leadership team on the IT service portfolio, governance, priorities and budget adherence
Collaborates cross-functionally with key business constituents, builds trust and maintains productive relationships in order to ensure clear understanding of business needs.
Establishes and maintains IT service management best practices and tools including but not limited to ServiceNow and enterprise monitoring systems.
Operates governance systems in accordance with desired business outcomes, provides reporting and dashboards as needed.
Assesses external and internal technology capabilities and works to align with required business outcomes.
Proactively directs the sourcing of vendor service delivery, working with internal procurement and sourcing teams to provide strategy for delivery of services.
Assists with community steering activities and drives infrastructure technology standards, data governance and metrics.
Manage cloud and physical infrastructure including Azure, AWS, hosted third party datacenters, WAN/LAN/WLAN/SDWAN, security and access gateways.

Qualifications
BS/BA degree
8+ years in an IT Infrastructure management role, with at least 5 or more years working in enterprise, cross functional teams.
Experience in IT infrastructure architecture, strategic planning, and organizational development.
Previous experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical organization with demonstrated understanding and application of GAMP 5, Annex 11 basic principles strongly preferred.
Extensive experience in network infrastructure including multisite or campus architectures
Experience with architecting, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructures utilizing Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure required.
Extensive knowledge of IT Service Management Frameworks (eg ITSM, ITIL)
Expert level experience, leading implementation or significant operational oversight of ServiceNow or comparable IT service management system.
Excellent communication and leadership ability, developing and communicating vision for staff aligning with business strategy.
Ability to develop and nurture relationships with key business partners, demonstrating IT value
Influencing and negotiation ability in an environment where one must anticipate the resources may not be under direct control
Capacity planning and financial management, understanding cost allocation and chargeback methodologies
Understanding of industry trends in infrastructure technologies, best practices and how industry and other enterprises are embracing them
Past success leveraging ITSM practices, setting vision for service design, transition, and operations, as well as support for agile frameworks and waterfall development methodologies
Application of statutory and regulatory compliance including Sarbanes Oxley, Title 21, GDPR & CPRA, ISO, NIST and other security standards and laws.
Ability to develop an organizational design, ensuring skills and roles align with business needs and team members are engaged.
Developing and delivering governance, KPIs and metrics to track and measure quality and effectiveness of services.
Strong vendor management skills to best leverage internal, external, on-shore and off-shore resources to deliver in support of IT operating model.
Must possess ability to explain technical concepts and technology capabilities to business leaders as well as business concepts to the Infrastructure and other team members.
