If you are comfortable working with people, enjoy developing them, and are great at recruiting others to join and follow you, the Section Manager role is for you! Software section managers are first-line managers that are responsible for oversight of software personnel in order to meet program needs utilizing Raytheon Intelligence & Space processes and tools. Section Manager tasks encompass approximately 20% of the position. Such tasks include but not are not limited to such activities as hiring, ensuring adequate resources (personnel and assets) are dedicated to programs, providing technical guidance, developing career paths, facilitating alignment with engineering command media, guiding productivity improvement and risk mitigation initiatives in support of the normal operations. Section Managers are often involved in proposal work as well, providing cost estimates for future work utilizing objective information from historical metrics. Previous proposal work is highly preferable and helpful in this role.
The other remaining 80% portion of work in this role is involved in a technical software development role where prior experience leading teams is preferred. Strong execution of development activities with various languages, including C/C++ is required for this role. In particular, embedded software experience, modes development, signal processing, DevSecOps, agile development, and familiarity with Open Architecture (e.g. COARPS, OMS) will provide the best candidate for this opportunity. This role requires an active current DoD Secret or higher clearance upon hire and requires the individual to be engaged, take initiative, and have the ability to lead a team of software engineers through issues via creative problem solving and strong programming experience at various points in the software lifecycle.

* Typically requires 10+ years of C/C++ Programming, embedded software development experience
* Experience providing career development for team members
* Experience contributing technical work products throughout the entire software life cycle
* Experience working autonomously as well as collaboratively in a team environment
* U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position requires an active current DoD Secret or higher clearance from day one of employment.
* Strong agile development experience
* Scrum Master or Product Owner experience
* Experience with the Atlassian toolsets, Jira, Docker, Coverity
* Technical leadership experience with a team of engineers
* Previous functional management experience
* Previous proposal development
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
