CBTS is in Search of a Voice Telecom Engineer for a position located in the Dayton, OH area. Thir resource oversees and operates a muli-site, campus-wide VOIP ShoretelMitel telephone system. This position is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, security, and support of telephone system servers, switches, phones and all related software. The ideal candidate will have strong telephony and data networking experience, as well as the ability to learn new technologies quickly. This position will require strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present technical solutions to internal and external customers of all levels. Serve as the system administrator of the campus wide VOIP telephone system program, secure, and update the telephone and voice mail switches oversee the operation and maintenance of assigned system. Receive and process work orders and schedule requested installations, additions, moves or changes in telephone system hardware and software, work orders, installations, telephone equipment orders and changes, including major installations. Assist staff with problems and provide orientation sessions for new users interface with telephone companies, equipment vendors, account, sales and technical staff. Maintain, update, and secure systems administration hardware and software for the college s telephone and voice mail systems. Manage the call accounting system and work with accounting services to ensure proper charges to departmental budgets. Maintain the college s cell phone program and ensure proper billing to departmental budgets. Maintain alpha and numerical telephone directories for the college telephone directory and maintain college information with regional telephone companies. Review and monitor telephone billings communicate with major telephone and long distance service providers to resolve billing errors and discrepancies. Order installation or changes in telephone and ISP lines as needed research potential cost and effectiveness of new equipment and communication systems. Bachelor s Degree is preferred. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of the formal education requirement. Minimum 5 years professional experience in a related field Project leadership Vendor relationship management ServerClient software installation and troubleshooting, including upgrades and migrations. Must possess detailed technical knowledge of network protocols, including but not limited to TCPIP, IP subnetting, VLAN s, Ethernet, DHCP, DNS, QoSCoS, TDM PRI, SIP Strong analytic, reporting, and problem solving skills
