PRIMARY FUNCTION: To serve as a planner, coordinator, troubleshooter and primary IS consultant for all projects and initiatives relating to communication solutions, such as ACD, voice mail and telephone system configurations. Designs, oversees and administers infrastructure related to supported systems. Interfaces with first level support staff and clients to troubleshoot performance issues. Project manages all assigned projects. Communicates regularly with management concerning recommendations for replacing and enhancing services, as well as improving customer service and support.
Design, program and implement solutions to meet the communication needs of campus departments.
Maintain hardware by monitoring performance and testing and applying updates as they are made available.
Oversee the development and maintenance of department BCP plans to minimize impact during system downtime.
Provide recommendations during departmental planning efforts to define new and expanded communication services, technology, and equipment.
Develop and provide training for 1st level support and the client community on communication solutions and associated technologies.
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND COMPETENCIES needed in addition to Essential Functions:
Work with clients to troubleshoot service issues and document resolution to assist with a faster resolution on future tickets.
Demonstrate sound project management practices in addressing, reporting, and tracking all assigned projects and escalation of problem/delays.
Provide written solution proposals to customers including project cost estimates, implementation plans, customer/IS responsibilities, major assumptions and expected completion date.
Recommend client service charges and assist with the development of budgets.
Design and develop custom reports.
Maintain thorough knowledge of existing and emerging communication systems (Xtend, Voice Mail, Contact Center, VoIP, etc).
Maintain current information/documentation on equipment set-up. Establishes documentation for all services supported.
Provide capital documentation for all required upgrades and purchases.
Mentors Communications Specialists and Consultants
Provide 24x7 support of all supported systems.
Perform other duties within scope of job requirements as assigned by management.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field preferred.Job Requirements:
