The Telecommunication Technicians perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of POTS (Plain Old Telephone), high-speed internet and video networks.Do you have experience as a Cable Installer, triple play technician, broadband technician, Legacy Phone, structured cabling, alarm systems, Geek Squad, Satellite, Audio Visual and Home Automation installers? We need you!Benefits for Technician:Insurance: Beginning the first of the month following sixty (60) days of employment, you will be eligible for 401k, health insurance, dental, vision and voluntary (Life, Short-Term, Long-Term Disability, Accident Plan and Critical Illness) insurance.Paid Time-Off (PTO): You will accrue a total of 3 weeks in your first year of employment.Take home Transit supplied by BearTools supplied by Bear: Meter, Fusion Splicer and hand toolsTablet for reporting purposesBear Communications is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.Qualifications1-5 years experience as a Cable Installation or Phone I Technician preferredPass a background check and drug testMust have a current Drivers License with no major violations Install and Repair Legacy phone system and twisted pair, home automationStation installation and repair (Cat 3, Cat 5e, Cat6, RJ11, RJ45 jacks, drop, and NID)SCTE Certified, NCTA Certified, triple play technician, Fusion splicing, Bell System, broadband technicianBasic computer skills and Android platform mobile device application usageBasic electricityBasic transmission of xDSL installation xDSL means variations of Digital Subscriber Lines.The telephony color code to be able to identify assigned cable pairsAbility to read a main frame/cross connect/control point layout to run jumpersAbility to read, understand and follow instruction on dispatched Jobs, trouble tickets, project prints, throw and sequence sheets and associated record updatesWorking knowledge of CenturyLink workforce management systems: Including but not limited to: CLICK-MAX, or Tech Access and associated task clearing codes.Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customersLadder safety, Pole climbing (if requested), OSHA safety requirementsWork zone requirementsKnowledge of working with fiber and copper facilitiesAbility to utilize test equipment and interpret test results for all work streamsCompletion requirements for each Unit, as outlined in Attachment D Completion Requirements
