Telecom Design Engineer III, Sprint Corporation, Overland Park, KS Research, design, plan, develop and/or evaluate new, advanced network technologies by translating customer requirements or strategic business objectives into final product design for projects of highest complexity and multiple technologies. Use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve very complex issues in creative and effective ways. Test LTE EPC and CDMA core network, including protocols and signaling/data over various interfaces. Create methods of procedure (MOPs) for new projects / changes on EPC core and execute those in the lab. Define testing processes, strategy, and test. Prepare design documents, test plans with RTM, and performance, capacity, negative, and automation testing. Perform upgrades for LAB LTE infrastructure. Find bugs of new releases in production / lab testing, reproduce those in lab and verify bug fixes. Provide troubleshooting support in lab for new projects. Perform regression testing, IOT (Inter-operability Testing), capacity testing, new feature tests, automation testing, and negative testing in lab. Prepare CRLs and DFARFs and conducting connectivity checks including ICMP ping, trace route, telnet, and port testing. Perform project management functions to help a technical team accomplish a task. Conduct System / Process Study for project planning, scoping, estimation, tracking & risk mitigation. Define best practices for project support and documentation.Basic QualificationsMaster's degree in Electronics Engineering, or related field and three years related work experience. Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, or related field and five years related work experience. Related experience should include: Testing, trouble-shooting, root-cause analysis, and problem resolution for voice and data call flows for Cisco, Ericsson and Nokia-ALU; Cisco Relay GW installation, integration, configuration, testing, trouble-shooting, root-cause analysis, and problem resolution, and deployment; ASR 5500/5000/SAMI 7613 software configuration, integration, testing and troubleshooting. Also, testing, trouble-shooting, root-cause analysis, and problem resolution for Cisco hardware; Project test planning functions including the translation of project and technical requirements into test cases and MOPs; Design and execute Landslide test cases based on project requirements for LTE and CDMA; Configuring Spirent Landslide to simulate EPC core platforms to support testing LTE data core testing.
