Company Overview Calling the adventurers ready to join a company that's pushing the limits of nanotechnology to keep the digital revolution rolling. At KLA, we're making technology advancements that are bigger-and tinier-than the world has ever seen. Who are we? We research, develop, and manufacture the world's most advanced inspection and measurement equipment for the semiconductor and nanoelectronics industries. We enable the digital age by pushing the boundaries of technology, creating tools capable of finding defects smaller than a wavelength of visible light. We create smarter processes so that technology leaders can manufacture high-performance chips-the kind in that phone in your pocket, the tablet on your desk and nearly every electronic device you own-faster and better. We're passionate about creating solutions that drive progress and help people do what wouldn't be possible without us. The future is calling. Will you answer? Group/Division KLA has always had a close relationship with physics and data. Our optical and electron beam inspection and measurement tools use cutting edge physics models, both for hardware design and as part of their algorithms. AI, including several traditional machine learning techniques and deep learning are routinely used to process this data to meet application requirements. The AI & Modeling Center of Excellence, centered in KLA's R facility in Ann Arbor, MI, was setup with the mission of advancing KLA's traditional strengths in physics and data and providing implementation solutions for multiple KLA Inspection and Metrology products targeted at the semiconductor manufacturing industry. As a part of this group, you will be part of a world class team of physicists, HPC system designers, machine learning and application engineers who build cutting edge solutions for modeling complex imaging techniques and semiconductor processes. You will also work with a data scientists and AI infrastructure engineers whose mission is to build and scale machine learning based solutions for our semiconductor customers. We are looking for engineers in a few different fields. If you are passionate about Physics Modeling, High Performance Computing - HPC (including GPU), ML, Data, or Cloud technologies - this is the place for you! Responsibilities The AI and Modeling Center of Excellence in Ann Arbor is a Functional Organization. The three focus areas for the group are physics modeling, AI and AI related software platforms. Teams within each group support multiple product lines. Any engineer in the organization has multiple stakeholders in both the functional organization local to ann arbor, as well as the product groups which are often in California. The Technical program manager is expected to have two main job responsibiliites:1. Maintain communications and alignement with all stakeholders for selected product focused programs.2. Support engineers and tech leads in ann arbor with execution. On a more concrete level, the following job responsibilites are expected. Organize and maintain alignment on deliverables with each program (program stakeholders are often in KLA's California HQ). Prepare and maintain cadence of internal Ann Arbor Functionalleadership team meetings, divisional product/program execution reviews and technology reviews. Have sufficient technical depth (at least in software, and if possible in AI) to understand technical challenges and potential roadblocks for the team and facilitate proactively addressing them (example ordering long lead time items, insisting on formal knowledge transfer for techincally challenging work items etc). Help Tech Leads with project management support as requested. There are several programs in Ann Arbor and most are self sufficient. But some programs may request help from a TPM during critical execution phases. Track execution of projects closely, and dig into problem areas to proactively escalate to A2 Leadership for visibility and handling. The "Technical" part of the Technical Manager Role is expected to be very important for success in this role. The TPM should be able to dig into details in SW and AI areas as needed to understand and lead discussion on potential solutions. Manage non program work items calendar drive necessary activities (Internships, University Relations activities, Non Product related activities like infrastructure development). Be point of escalation for all programs if and when they have hitches in execution. Qualifications Masters Degree in Engineering, CS or related area.More than7 years experience in software development related roles. At least4 years experience with project management and program management.Excellent communication skills and proben track record managing stakeholders outside immeditate reporting structure of the organization.Exceptional ability and proven track record of communicating program status and iniatives to executive management.Minimum Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Engineering, CS or related area.More than5 years experience in software development related roles. At least3 years experience with project management and program management.Excellent communication skills and proben track record managing stakeholders outside immeditate reporting structure of the organization.Exceptional ability and proven track record of communicating program status and iniatives to executive management.Equal Employment Opportunity KLA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
