Our client, a financial services company, is seeking a Technical Lead- InfrastructureLocation: Charlotte, NCPosition Type: Contract Role Summary: Provide leadership in the Data Development space for web based projects, from the requirements phase through delivery. Responsible for meeting development schedules and delivering high quality solutions that meet technical specifications and design requirements. Contribute to and/or lead the specification and software design phases of the software development life cycle. Performing and aiding in quality assurance testing, performance testing, troubleshooting application and environment issues, and production support.Responsibilities: Manage the technical delivery of multiple projects on-time, on-budget and with targeted zero defects. Mentoring junior developers. Provide planning, estimation, scheduling, prioritization and coordination of technical activities related to system development. Ensure system alignment to Enterprise Architecture policies and best practices; ensure that process methodologies are followed in system development. Accountable to business and technology management for end to end application scoping, planning, development and delivery that meets and exceeds quality standards. Oversee creation and approval of technical documentation including the Solution Definition document and Technical Design document; ensure documentation is aligned to the Functional Requirements and uses document templates that meet SDLC standards. Identify and manage dependencies and downstream impacts of the project to minimize adverse effects on other projects and / or programs. Manage day to day technical challenges and communicate to project manager any risks or issues associated with the development activities. Assist Project manager with the estimation of technical timelines and allocation of the technical resources to specific task Coordinate coding and unit testing phases of system development and facilitate Code Reviews Identify opportunities for system reuse and system simplification Communicate Expectations, Roles and Responsibilities to team members and hold them accountable to meet the expectations Collaborate with IT partners to devise capacity plan and ensure appropriate infrastructure for the end to end system deliveryRequired Skills: 7 - 10 years of relevant work experience in Oracle, MongoDB, IBM Data Stage OR Talend. Prioritizes own and others' time and effort to deliver on project priorities Performs complex tasks executing and modifying processes, plans and design when needed. Prioritizes project budget and resources to deliver on project priorities. Strong core ETL skills and practical knowledge of basic/intermediate design patterns. Hands on experience with Database Design, ETL Frameworks, and exposure to Data Modelling Hands on experience with Data Testing, Data Controls, Data Analysis, and Data Profiling tools Strong experience in building the reusable ETL components in DataStage. Experience with Autosys and UNIX a huge plus. Experience with Oracle PlSql coding is huge plus. Financial Services Experience, particularly investments, brokerage and retirement planning Hands on experience of tools like Rational, RTC, ERWIN, Oracle, Teradata Knowledge of Data Management Strategies (ETL Frameworks, Data Modeling concepts) Extensive experience gathering data requirements and building ETL Data Mapping Documents Strong understanding of clean, reusable ETL designs and techniques Strong problem solving abilities, the ability to help troubleshoot code Experience resolving performance issues in batch processing jobs
