JOB SCOPESpectrum Guide Operations is looking for an expert level Engineer to support a large scale hybrid infrastructure comprising of cloud, local and shared platform services and hardware. The individual must have experience in metrics analysis, scripting, system administration, and set-top box troubleshooting.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for specifying, designing, and/or implementing system health, performance monitoring tools, and software management tools for 24x7 environmentsSupport a large scale hybrid infrastructure comprising of cloud, local and shared platform services and hardwareTroubleshoot common and uncommon problems related to the company's flag ship product, Spectrum GuideCreate automation for operationalizing production environmentsIdentify performance metrics relevant to the customer experience,implement metrics monitoring,analyze performance data to identify opportunities for improvement,quantify expected improvement for interventions,develop analysis tools to help analyze performance metrics and interact with STBs to provide real time metrics.BASIC / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, and/or equivalent work experienceMinimum five (5) years of Engineering work experienceMinimum three (3) years of Unix/Linux AdministrationMinimum three (3) years of experience in an Object Oriented programming language and/or scripting languageADDITIONAL JOB QUALIFICATIONSHigh level ability to identify and troubleshoot issues in SQL and/or NOSQL database environments (e.g. Oracle, MySQL, Cassandra)Networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)Expert level Infrastructure knowledge (UCS, VSphere) and experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box)Demonstrate the ability to create detailed documentation describing functionality and understanding of new and existing complex applications.Knowledge of choosing the appropriate lifecycle and the planning, monitoring, control and leading of the systems engineering processAdvanced ability to automate deployment and test/validation workflowsExpert knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations, such as JiraCloud experienceProficient with monitoring systems, automation software (e.g., Puppet, Ansible, Chef) and GIT Version ControlWorking knowledge of standard services (DNS, DHCP)Proficient troubleshooting Customer Premise Equipment (Set-Top Boxes) using Mototerm, CMD2000, and SSHPREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONSRed Hat Certified Systems AdministratorIndividuals with background in mathematics or sciences are highly encouraged to applyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong problem solving, analytical and tactical problem solving skillsThe ability to write technical documentation to be referenced by technical peers in a knowledge baseAble to work in a team environment and work effectively with people with diverse technical skillsWell versed in configuration management toolsProduction experience in OperationsJob Code : ISY350-VIDEO BR Here, employees don't just have jobs, they build careers.
