Our client is a mid-sized Telecommunications software vendor that sells Mobile Network service assurance and analytics solutions to Mobile Service Providers. The client was one of the first in its space to introduce and commercialise next-generation cloud-native solutions coupled with innovative subscription business models.
They are looking for a Systems Administrator who will be working within a global team located in the UK, France, Taiwan, USA, India and UAE. This role will be based from the UK office.
The role involves global support, deployment, configuration, maintenance and management of Windows 7 and 10 computers, some knowledge of Microsoft Windows (AD 2016), Office365. Some knowledge of Redhat and Debian Linux will be good. This position requires strong organizational and collaboration skills. Some international travel involved.
This role will report to the Sr. Global Director of Security and ICT.
Essential Global Functions:
Install, configure, deploy, maintain, upgrade, patch and administer Windows-based desktop and laptop computers.
Install, manage and maintain Microsoft Windows-based systems and various software applications and services, such as Windows 7 & 10, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, MS Outlook, DNS and numerous 3rd party applications such as backup and FTP services.
Provide on-call/Email support to resolve and/or escalate user/systems incidents or issues outside normal working hours including support during software deployment/release activities.
Collaborate with IS & ICT Director, ICT team, users and other business stakeholders to determine requirements and technical objectives and ensure SLA timeframes are met.
Create and maintain system administration procedure and technical documentation.
Perform other tasks, including administration of other systems and applications, as needed to meet the objectives of the team and business.
Required Knowledge and skills:
Demonstrable skills in deployment, configuration, maintenance and administration of Microsoft Windows laptop/desktop operating systems and applications.
Communicates well in English both orally and in writing to a variety of audiences.
Produce weekly activity reports, oral presentations and briefings.
Excellent organizational skills, proven ability to prioritize multiple activities and objectives to thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
Ability to write effective technical documentation with attention to detail and accuracy.
Some knowledge of Network Security, AWS Cloud Platform, TCP/IP networking, VLANs, Cisco ASA firewalls, Cisco routers, Managed Switches, load balancers.
Education: Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent years of experience
Experience: 2+ yrs. experience in IT Systems Administration
