JOB DESCRIPTION: Collaborates with system engineers, software engineers, and system administrators to design, develop, install, deploy, operate, and manage the application infrastructure. Expected to implement and maintain system monitoring, application monitoring, automated application scaling, load balancing, change control, and other miscellaneous DevOps and monitoring tools. Liaises with developers, designers and system administrators to identify new application infrastructure requirements. Helps system administrator and system developers with troubleshooting. Candidates should have experience with a high-level programming language, Docker, CentOS, & Relational Databases. Experience with one or more of the following is desired, but not required: Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, Nagios, Elastic Stack, Python, Shell Scripting, AWS/C2S, Java, Spring.
Provides expert support, analysis and research into exceptionally complex problems, and processes relating to the subject matter.
Serves as technical expert on executive-level project teams providing technical direction, interpretation and alternatives.
Thinks independently and demonstrates exceptional written and oral communications skills.
Applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts.

Expertise is in a particular area of Mission Information Technology (e.g., Information Systems Architecture, Telecommunications Systems Design, Architecture, Implementation, Information Systems Integration, Software Development Methodologies, Security Engineering, Communications and Network Systems Management). Qualifications
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Shall have at least twelve (12) years experience as a Software Engineer in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, or problem diagnosis/resolution.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
Master's degree can be substituted for two (2) years experience
