Successful candidates for this position will work in a technical role in Dulles VA. This Systems Engineering role is responsible for leading the modeling and simulation efforts for a space program in the NSS business area within the Space Systems Sector.
The Systems Modeling and Simulation Engineer will be responsible for modeling Concept of Operations and Design Reference Missions in support of a ground based service oriented architecture intended to service next generation space capability. A successful Systems Modeling and Simulation Engineer will have experience in space mission modeling and simulation using tools such as Freeflyer or STK for analyzing and visualizing complex systems in the context of a mission. The Systems Modeling and Simulation Engineer will perform analyses of vehicle capabilities under various mission scenarios that meet operational constraints, satisfy ground segment requirements and optimize mission utility. The candidate will work with cross-discipline team members and must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse community of engineers and managers to achieve the goals of the program team.
Must have U.S. Citizenship with a current or active Top Secret level clearance, SCI eligible.
This position requires a BS degree in Engineering or related technical field and at least 5 years of applicable experience, or an MS Degree and 3 years of applicable experience.
Familiarity with Freeflyer, STK, or Matlab for mission analysis and mod/sim
Preferred Experience (one or more areas desired):
CONOPS development for Space Based programs.
Knowledge of various mission analysis techniques and software tools.
Space to Ground and Mission Architecture
Understanding of Agile software development practices.
Background working software systems engineering.
On-orbit testing of space systems and testing of integrated ground systems.
Salary Range: 101200 - 151800
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
