Martin Defense Group, a privately-owned defense contractor, is seeking a Software Engineer. The incumbent will join a group of talented Engineers, Scientist, and Innovators with tremendous top-side potential devoted to solving novel technological problems with national defense implications in the fields of Cybersecurity, Autonomy, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and Naval Architecture among others. This position will be located in our South Kingstown, RI location. If you think this opportunity is aligned with your career interests, do not hesitate to apply!ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:+ Research and development: problem identification, requirements definition, new theory development, analysis, and experimentation.+ Apply cyber security methods and develop novel tools to monitor, detect, and defend networks, systems, components, and software from cyber-attacks. + Development and analysis of power systems, components, and vehicles+ Rigorously develop, test and document software code.+ Provide technical support to engineering teams with Martin Defense Group.+ Support development of new business opportunities: proposal writing, gap analysis, client relations.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:+ Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other equivalent discipline from an accredited college or university with a focus on cyber security, electrical system controls, machine learning, and power system modeling and simulation.+ 1+ year experience with focus on software tools supporting engineering applications.+ Software development experience using C++, Qt, VTK + Prior experience in one or more of the following technical areas is of additional interest: industry technology (IT) /operational technology (OT) cyber security, advanced power systems, controls, and multi-physics modeling. + Candidate should be able to thrive in a R environment, identify technical gaps in the state-of-the-art and clearly communicate with customers. + An understanding of naval vessels or electrical power grids a plus.+ Able to demonstrate initiative and possess time management skills to meet deadlines.+ Possess the interest and flexibility to be involved with interdisciplinary engineering tasks+ Periodic travel within the United States is required.SKILLS/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:+ Programming skill in C++, Python, Qt.+ User of Git, CMake, Linux.+ Clear technical writing and communication.ID: 2 External Company URL: Street: 1080 Kingstown Road Bldg #5 Telecommute: No
