Peraton is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer in Melbourne, FL to provide Tracking, Telemetry, and Control and Satellite Mission Planning and Scheduling development to support our mission critical customer. The team member will collaborate with a talented group of Software Engineers to bring innovative software solutions to our end customers.

What you'll do...

* Research, design, and development of computer software systems, including requirement analysis, design, development and test of software products. Requires the application of the principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
* Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Utilize software system testing procedures, programming and documentation.
* Contribute to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects and ability to handle routine tasks. Solve problems of moderate scope/complexity.
* Demonstrate a strong grasp of debugging skills.

You'd be a great fit if you have...

* BS degree (or equivalent)
* 3 years' experience designing and developing software utilizing Java, including knowledge of standard libraries and design patterns
* Experience with software development methodologies and life-cycles; specifications, design, implementation and testing
* 3 years' experience with Unix, preferably Linux (RHEL).

It'd be even better if you have...

* 3 years' experience designing and developing Satellite Mission Planning and Scheduling or TT&C applications utilizing Java/C/C++
* Experience with the Amazon Web Services cloud architecture and tools associated with cloud development and security
* Development of Unit Tests to get code coverage to above 90%
* Active involvement in the peer-review process, to include providing thorough code reviews and receiving critical feedback.
* Familiarity with toolsets such as Git, Gradle, Jira, BitBucket, and Crucible.
* Familiarity with the Agile Product Development Cycle
* Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment.

This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain and maintain a TS- SCI security clearance. In order to obtain a clearance, you need to be a U. S. Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
