About The Role

We're looking for a Shared Infrastructure Manager who will form part of the service infrastructure management structure to help manage, plan and co-ordinate the delivery of the Society's Service Infrastructure function. You'll ensure all supported infrastructure is operational and deliver the agreed service to the business.

You'll also engage with Business representatives and Third Parties (where required) to ensure that services are supported in line with expectations and service levels, managing those relationships in line with the IT Strategy. Whilst monitoring the compliance of the service and operational teams to ensure they operate with agreed standards and appropriate policies.

The individual will ensure informed strategic decision making is made through accurate, consistent and timely management information, planning and reporting. Whilst helping faster adoption, greater usage and higher proficiency of the changes impacting on service and operational management such that overall business results are achieved.

We're looking for an Technical Manager with excellent people management skills as you'll line management for a team of Technical Specialists and Technicians with a variety of skills in different technologies. You'll have management and accountability of day to day support activities of the Shared infrastructure team assigned to them. And ensure resource management, task management and leadership skills are implemented to co-ordinate and direct team members (including external resources where required) to deliver support objectives to fixed timescales. Experience in leading, coaching and mentoring team members is a key attribute required for this role.

? VMWare Strategy, Management & Support
? Storage (IBM, HP) Strategy, Management & Support
? Backup and Recovery Strategy, Management & Support
? Monitoring systems Strategy, Management & Support
? Advanced Microsoft Office suite
? Incident management practices
? ITIL V3 certified (COBIT if possible also)
? AWS technology stack knowledge

Other essential information:

? The Society runs IT Services 24x7 and this role requires a flexible approach and will need to be available at short notice to ensure service is maintained or recovered for Society members and staff.

Internally this role is known as Infrastructure Manager - Platform Engineering.
