About the role
You will work alongside our Network and Infrastructure Manager as part of a team of 7 dedicated IT professionals, working collaboratively to maintain all aspects of the IT infrastructure, support the wider business, maintain uptime, performance and stability of IT systems and encourage adoption of new technological solutions.
We only consider technology to be 20% of what we do, the rest is about the people and we are looking for candidates who have a strong sense of empathy, can deal effectively with people throughout the organisation and have a positive, enthusiastic approach. You will need strong communication skills and take pride in playing your part in the success of the team.
Key responsibilities will include:
Assist the Network & Infrastructure Manager with managing projects, including taking the technical lead where appropriate
Producing estimates of tasks and skills as well as reporting when required
Mentor and support junior team members
Support the business in ensuring continued compliance with relevant accreditations (ISO 27001, PCI)
Support of Cloud solutions used by the business (Office 365, Azure, AWS)
Capacity management and planning
Support of client project phases: Initiation, Design, Development Support, QA Support, UAT/Production Support, Go-Live Support, Deployment Support
LAN, WLAN, WAN
Physical and virtual server and network infrastructure
We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 5 years IT experience as well as experience of the following technologies:
- Windows Server (up to 2016)
- Active Directory (on-prem)
- Microsoft Exchange (up to 2016)
- SQL Server (up to 2016)
- Office 365 (Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams/Skype for Business, SharePoint Online, OneDrive)
- Virtualisation - Microsoft Hyper-V
- High Availability solution implementation and support
- Managing switching and firewalling technologies (Cisco and Dell)
- Backup technolgies (Veeam)
- Powershell Scripting e.g. for automation purposes
- Storage technologies (Dell Storage Compellent)
Ideally, you will hold a relevant Microsoft / CCNA certification as well.
