Job Title: Senior Mobile App Developer - Xamarin** Note: Ideal candidate will have current mobile application development experience in Xamarin and also experience as a Full Stack .Net Developer. You will spend majority of your time in leading our mobile application efforts for our companies. Location: 100% Remote (anywhere in the US)Primary Purpose:Responsible for the analysis, design, coding, testing, documentation, and support of new native mobile applications. Provide technology solutions to allow business units to achieve their objectives and goals.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The following is a summary of the essential functions of this job. Specific activities may change from time to time.Design, develop and test mobile applicationsMaintain systems by identifying and correcting software defectsParticipate in requirement analysis and definitionCreate technical specifications and unit test plansWork with QA to align understanding of requirements and to develop system test plansWork as part of an Agile development team to solve problems and develop projects in a fast-paced environmentFollow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the jobDemonstrate a basic degree of creativity and problem-solving skillsFollow the established software development life cycleFollow established coding standards and naming conventionsSupport applications using software development methodologies including structured programming, documentation, design and code reviewWork with business analysts and application users to define and design robust user-centric application solutionsCollaborate with UX resources to drive consistent look and feel of user interfaceCollaborate with database resources to ensure robust and complete data access and manipulationCollaborate with IT Operations to ensure hardware and software are aligned to deliver business requirementsMentor junior and other new developersOn-site regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the jobMinimum Skills and Competencies:Bachelor Degree or, in-lieu of degree, equivalent education, training, and work-related experience7+ years of experience in the Microsoft technology stack3+ years of development experience in Mobile development using Xamarin.Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and SOLID design principlesExperience in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and JQueryProficient with SOAP and Restful Web Services (WCF, Web API)Proficient in SQL Server 2012 and above, Transact SQL, stored procedures, triggers, DTS packagesExperience with Entity Framework and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworksExperience with applying design and architectural patternsFamiliar with TFS 2013 and higherExperience in end-to-end Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) projectExperience working with Agile/Scrum methodologiesExperience with code review and evaluationGood at understanding requirements and estimationGood team player, have the ability and willingness to mentor junior developersHave a passion for learning new technologies and enhancing existing skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsSelf-starter that can work well in a team environmentProactive issue resolution with a positive attitudeAbility to adapt and respond in a rapidly evolving business environmentUnderstands solution at the project levelDesired Skills:7+ years of development experience in Microsoft technologies with at least 3 years in Mobile application development using XamarinExperience in other native mobile application development will be considered with a background in .NET technologies.Possess experience in the insurance industry and/ or basic knowledge of insuranceUnderstanding of data modeling conceptsRelevant Microsoft certificationInsurance industry experience#LI-PJ1#LI-Remote#RemoteNational General Holdings Corp. is an Equal Opportunity (EO) employer - Veterans/Disabled and other protected categories.
