Our client is at the forefront of disruptive technology across the telecoms markets. They are looking to grow their consulting practise and have a clear focus on cloud technologies, specifically SDN / NFV. The historical landscape of telecoms infrastructure is changing, hence the need for high level technical experts to manage the transformation from legacy OSS / BSS to software defined solutions.

This position is customer facing, working primarily from customer locations. Remote work is fine when not travelling.
Strong preference for candidates with flexibility to work from different locations in Europe (primarily but not exclusively Germany, Switzerland & The Netherlands)
Strong preference for permanent employees, contractor-based positions will be considered too but not given priority.
Good English, both in oral and written form, is required.

Responsibilities
- Defines the architecture and design for the NFVI cloud infrastructure and the data centre network.
- Defines infrastructure roadmap and defines enhancement increments.
- Translates use cases in detailed infrastructure requirements.
- Supports the overall design related to resilience, availability and security.
- Provides material expertise for NFVI and data centre network vendor selection.
- Supports infrastructure and services proof of concepts.
- Creates detailed infrastructure use cases and provides input for the infrastructure test plan.

Consulting skills
- Senior consultancy skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills required.

Telecom skills
- Experience with cloud services architecture projects/programs, technologies, standards, processes and/or controls fit into the service provider environment.

SDN-NFV skills
- Working knowledge of various virtualization products and hypervisors like – VMware, KVM, OpenStack etc.
- Hands on knowledge and subject matter expertise in IP networking technologies: OSI Layer 2-4 protocols, IP network architecture, application traffic flows, cloud security architecture, and security best practice.
- Proficient with Linux environments (Ubuntu, RedHat/CentOS, etc).

Other requirements
- Education: Bachelor in relevant technical study.
- Hands on approach.
- Scripting development skills in Shell, Python, JavaScript, or Perl.
- Experience using Agile scrum methodology and reporting progress through JIRA.
