RF Test Engineer

This hands-on position supports the development of advanced hardware and software for the characterization and screening of GaN HEMT and MMIC RF devices. You will become familiar with testing devices both on-wafer and in packages. Your primary area of responsibility will be in a low-volume, high-complexity RF test lab in a fast-paced, challenging environment. What can you do for Wolfspeed? You will be responsible for developing RF test plans for multiple concurrent projects in coordination with designers and customers. You will then need to make ready equipment, test software, and other materials in advance of having products to test. Working with technicians and other engineers, you will ensure the accurate calibration of your bench and validate the accuracy of measurements with reference materials and calibration standards. You will then be responsible for data processing, analysis, and preparation of reports.A successful applicant will support test software development as a member a multi-site team of RF test engineers working together using an enterprise Git-based version-control environment. You will maintain and improve existing software as well as develop new applications and scripts.You will be tasked with evaluating new RF test instruments and staying abreast of innovations in the industry. You will also innovate and find new ways of better utilizing existing equipment. Coordinating with other engineers, you will oversee the repair and annual calibration of lab equipment.You will interface with both internal and external customers to define requirements and capabilities, present data, and work through any issues. Frequent collaboration with other engineers and technicians will be necessary for success. What you need for success: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related fieldObject-oriented software development experienceExposure to RF or analog testing and/or designExperience manipulating and analyzing dataAbility to achieve and maintain a US government DoD security clearanceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to lift and move equipment up to 40 lbsThis position requires the lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations.
