The Product Manager for Internet of Things (IoT) and Residential Managed WiFi is responsible for driving the roadmap, development, launch of IoT solutions for MDU property owners and Managed WiFi that provides MDU Residents Internet access at move-in. These solutions cater to the evolving needs of property owners for technically advanced broadband products and smart technology systems.
This Product Manager will be accountable for and serves as the authority on all aspects of the product portfolio. This includes domains of defining simple & intuitive offers, product requirements, customer experience, launch activities, financial and operating metrics, enhancement priorities and product roadmaps. The Product Manager will be recognized as the top subject matter expert on a portfolio of products. Leads cross-functional teams by example, demonstrating passion, and drive to satisfy customer needs to optimize customer experience through product innovation and/or improvements to internal organization, processes and technology. The Product Manager will synthesize information to determine both current and future customer needs. This person will provide Input into budget decision; commits resources to address/balance customer needs; Operates with extensive latitude for independent judgment within operational parameters.
Define and develop product vision which aligns with customer needs, market and competitive trends and corporate strategy.
Translate vision into clear and defined business requirements to drive functional specifications and technical requirements.
Represent the customer in discussions with a focus on frictionless journeys; must be passionate about user experience.
Drive the development of business cases in collaboration with business partners, which define the product value proposition and support investment in the product.
Lead cross functional teams in solution definition based on People, Process and Tools framework.
Coordinate product pilots, trials, and go-to-market plans for the launch of new products, features, and functionality. Track pilot success metrics with a focus on solidifying solution prior to scaling launch.
Establish performance thresholds based on technical specifications, cross product business requirements, and customer expectations.
Manage and review allocated budget and actual spend for product development and lifecycle activities.
Create, sustain and optimize operational practices and procedures to drive efficiencies.
Partner with functional boundary partners (ie Sales, Marketing, Training, and Customer Operations) in the development of relevant internal and external collateral.
Define and track product performance, early life metrics, and drive solutions to customer issues
Analyze customer, business and product performance metrics, interpreting underlying drivers to translate into data-based recommendations and solutions for customer issues.
Work closely with leadership team and provide technical expertise towards the development of product strategy.
8 or more years of experience required in related field (eg Technology, Marketing, Process Improvement, etc.)
5 or more years of experience required if candidate possesses a related advanced degree.
Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization.
Demonstrate strong technical and market knowledge.
BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired (eg Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)
Experience in telecommunications or high-tech environment
IoT/Smart City knowledge and experience
