High Level individual contributor responsible for providing technology leadership for the research, implementation, and testing of automation and cloud native wireless technologies in a lab environment including WiFi and mobile, design, and deployment support. Drive the wireless technology roadmap with stakeholders, i.e. product organization, engineering and operations as well as vendors and MSO partners. Responsible for defining and developing Charter's wireless core technology automation and cloud native architecture supporting wireless core technologies.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible primarily for the Wireless Core automation and cloud native infrastructure and products but will be required to closely collaborate with other engineering organizations, product development organizations, vendors, MSO partners and standards and policy organizations.
Assesses new products requirements and develop technology solutions and architecture design to support them.
Supports the deployment of WiFi and 4G/5G Small Cells Access Networks.
Works within a cross-functional technical team to provide technical leadership for topics of automation, virtualization, and other cloud native technologies.
Responsible for leading initiatives to automate infrastructure (compute, network, and application) by leveraging software development fundamentals, programming languages, automation frameworks, and advanced scripting techniques.
Contributes and represent Charter in relevant industry and standards forums such as the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA), CableLabs, IEEE, WiFi Alliance (WFA), CableWiFi MSO Alliance, Small Cell Forum, etc.
Supports Charters' mobile strategy with technology expertise to assess the feasibility of new business opportunities such as home automation, assessment of 5G technology impact on HSD business in the long-term, impact assessment of Next Generation Wireless Technologies Video Compression technologies on Charter's video distribution business.
Intellectual Property creation, patent filing and promotion of such IP through the contribution to relevant standards and industry forums.
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Strong technology expertise with API (REST, NETCONF, and RESTCONF), YANG Data Models, XML / JSON / YAML data formats.
Significant knowledge of Linux operating system environments (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu)
Significant knowledge of modern programming and scripting languages (Python/Ansible)
Background in automation of infrastructure and software using modern automation frameworks
Lead complex projects working with a matrix team of engineers at junior and senior levels across the different Engineering Organizations.
Strong technology expertise, proven leadership skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, superb technical skills, and a strong customer-service orientation.
Ability to communicate with all levels of management
Ability to manage and deliver against several initiatives simultaneously
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively

Knowledge of 4G, 5G, and Wi-Fi technologies
BSEE in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent; MBA preferred.
