Together the enhanced group provides market leading cloud, IT, connectivity, telephony, mobile, and data services to SME organisations across the UK. Operating with circa 180 employees and 20m of sales the group provides services to over 1000 organisations across the UK.


Background


Already providing a comprehensive range of IT managed services the group intends to significantly expand its range of cybersecurity products and services. The board leadership of the group has a well established background in the cyber market for enterprise customers and now intends to establish the group as the leading provider of cyber services to the SME market within the UK. A key part of the plan is the appointment of this position who will work closely with board to achieve its ambitions.


Role


Reporting to the group CTO the key responsibility of the role is to provide technical leadership and expertise to our expanded cybersecurity operation.


Key responsibilities will include:


  • Providing client facing hands on technical response to cyber / data breaches.
  • Providing coaching and training to other engineering professionals handling cyber incidents and support issues.
  • Build, develop and manage an elite team of cyber professionals in support of the groups plans
  • Advising customers on cybersecurity technology and incidents.
  • Personally handle specific (typically 3rd line) cyber helpdesk tickets to our customer base working within targeted SLA's.
  • Providing remote technical support to customers as required and advising and coaching other team members.
  • Deliver cybersecurity reviews and assessments to established industry standards for customers.
  • Work with the CTO, COO and Chairman to evolve and develop the group's cyber proposition and range of services (both professional and managed services).
  • Helping the sales team proactively sell cyber services into customers and prospects.
  • Alongside the CTO become a key company spokesperson on cyber matters including helping to develop and hold webinars and other marketing events.
  • Working with other members of the operations management team develop and evolve the necessary IT systems in support of the groups cyber services proposition.


Key skills & experience:


  • At least 4 years experience of delivering cyber services (either professional or managed).
  • Extensive and proven expertise at handling cyber incidents and delivering cybersecurity assessments/ penetration testing (CREST, OSCP certifications preferred).
  • Strong background and technical knowledge of IT infrastructure (LAN's/ WAN's), firewall technology, Microsoft technology, VMWare and cloud products and services.
  • Knowledge or experience of applying and using cyber tools (eg intrusion detection and vulnerability analysis).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (including good report writing skills). Able to communicate with a variety of audiences (from highly technical to director level).
  • Strong team player.
  • Pace and action orientated.
  • Strong attention to detail.
