As the VAS Technical Product Development Manager, you will serve as the primary technical manager within the On-Device VAS Product Development team. You will:
Serve as the subject matter advisor for all technical matters, providing input into technology roadmap activities, as well as defining processes to empower the On-Device VAS Product Development team;
Manage the technology roadmap, certification requirements and test execution for all on-device applications and services;
Be part of a larger Retail Wireless Product Development team which validates products from concept through production, working with internal and external customers.
Develop consolidated VAS services roadmap, aligned with key stakeholders within Retail Wireless Product Development and the broader Dish team;
Define product requirements for VAS services (ie API documentation, service platform requirements) and identify build/partner/buy options for VAS roadmap;
Document key VAS integration requirements (ie, API documentation, service platform requirements) and publish revised VAS integration requirements to internal (ie Retail Wireless, network technology) and external (ie VAS third-party suppliers, device OEMs);
Coordinate with device roadmap device OEMs to provide latest software builds and integration requirements;
Define VAS certification requirements and develop VAS test cases with requirements traceability;
Proactively identify impacting roadmap deliveries against product schedule and coordinate with OEM product manager;
Execute VAS test cases against new software, logging all issues with the device OEM and OEM product manager;
Monitor ongoing return reports for indications of VAS performance issues;
Make strong contributions to the product and feature roadmap;
Engage with peers in developing the roadmap for new technologies and capabilities;
Develop test tools, frameworks, and methodologies to deliver best-in-class product solutions.
BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with proficiency in the English language;
6+ years of experience in applications and services for smartphones and tablets including product configuration, feature and offering integration, third-party vendor management, new product introduction, and lifecycle management;
6+ years of experience in mobile applications and services certification processes including industry leading practices (eg regulatory requirements, standards roadmaps);
3+ years of technical leadership including new feature development and roadmap management;
Prior experience with on-device product development and launch is required.
