DEPARTMENT: Technology Services FACILITY: TRMC Main Campus WORK TYPE: Full Time SHIFT: Day Shift SUMMARY: The Network Telecommunications Technician maintains all aspects of the organization's network and telecommunication services including but not limited to data network cabling, switching, telephone systems, voicemail systems, low voltage systems, voice/data/video/audio wiring, and information transport systems. This position requires extensive analyzing and troubleshooting network/telecom systems and equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Troubleshoots and corrects problems with enterprise systems (e.g., Microsoft's SCCM, HP Device Manager, Citrix, Windows Systems Update Server, Active Directory, DDPE endpoint security, etc.), while maintaining a level of knowledge and experience in core enterprise environments. * Plans and implements systems upgrades, hardware, software, OS, and applications while collaborating with departmental leaders and peers, and continuing to provide support to management and end users throughout the enterprise. * Acts as a tier escalation partner for troubleshooting hardware and software incidents (problem management), prior to escalation to vendors. * Installs, configures, tests, maintains, monitors, and troubleshoots end user workstation hardware. * Ensures the procedures and documentation related to enterprise environments are kept accurate and are perpetually maintained * Provides complex technical support, planning and coordination of end user devices (desktop/laptop, thin clients, mobile devices, printers/MFP, peripherals, etc.), systems and applications, as well as software and hardware installations, lifecycle refreshes, troubleshooting of hardware, software and system issues. * Works with and provides training and support to, end users and other technical support staff on computer operation and other issues. * Performs analysis, diagnosis, installation, and resolution of complex PC/Thin Client, operating system, application software and hardware technologies and associated problems. * Performs adds/moves/changes/programming on network, telecom, and various other technical equipment. * Installs voice/data/low voltage wiring as necessary. * Performs work orders/trouble tickets as specified by department. * Cleans voice/data closets. * Maintains voice/data cable and port records and audits. * Keeps network and telecom services inventory. * Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and facility regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified. * Understands and adheres to compliance standards as they appear in the Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, and Conflicts of Interest Policy. * Demonstrates age-specific skills as required by position. * Offers suggestions on ways to improve operations of department and reduce costs. * Attends all mandatory education programs. * Improves self-knowledge through voluntarily attending continuing education/certification classes. * Maintains required competency levels as identified in written exams, skills checklists, skills labs, annual safety and health requirements as well as service excellence education hours requirements. * Willing to cross-train in order to better assist co-workers and to provide maximum efficiency in department. * Volunteers/participates on hospital committees, functions, and department projects. * Manages resources effectively. * Reports equipment in need of repair in order to extend life of equipment. * Makes good use of time so as to not create needless overtime. EDUCATION: * Associate's Degree in Computer Science OTHER INFORMATION: Minimum of one (1) year of experience with technology support and telephony operations required.
