Position Summary: Manager, IT Telecommunication Services The Manager, IT Telecommunication Services manages all Carrier relationship for our telephony and data communications services for Guitar Center Stores and Shared Services facilities. This role includes management of the vendor relationship with telecommunication carriers, aggregators, and expense management vendors, along with management of our mobile/cellular telephony and administering user functions on relevant systems. As the Manager, IT Telecommunication Services, overseeing both the telecom expense and IT department operating expenses will be required. Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following: Manage a support staff in support of Guitar Center stores and other facilities servicing a production staff of 10,000+ employees. Mentor staff and ensure personnel issues are addressed in a timely manner. Maintain visibility of day to day operational requirements and projects at each location. Provide technical assistance to local production staff for Telecom/Carrier-related issues. Supports customer base in problem troubleshooting and resolution. In general, provide technical training, instruction, analysis, recommendations, project planning, implementation services and operational support for telecommunications and data communication systems. Forecast, manage and oversee budgets at all sites under your responsibility. Manage labor resources (recruitment, retention, training, mentoring, evaluations, promotions, etc.). Manage financial relationships with carrier and aggregation vendors. Manage efforts surrounding Customer Support -- Respond to calls and requests for problem resolution or service. Attempt to resolve issues remotely first, in person if necessary, and finally through detailed escalation management with relevant support providers. Manage efforts surrounding Mobility and Mobile worker information security -- Maintain minimum supportability standards for our mobile computing environment. Consult, recommend and revise minimum standards at least yearly. Coordinate telecommunication orders and installation for new and existing facilities in conjunction with Store Support and Network administration teams Additional duties as assigned.
