Active Secret Security Clearance is required. S2Technologies is looking for experienced Land Mobile Radio Engineer - Intermediate to join our team at Fort Belvoir, VA. Under indirect supervision the Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Engineer, Intermediate applies in-depth knowledge of communications networks and systems, transmission media and towers, LMRs and associated equipment to ensure optimal system performance. This includes providing tower management, coordination and subject matter expertise. Specific duties include required spectrum and communications tower management and providing full technical and administrative support for LMRs, including the Base Support Trunked Radio System (BSTRS). Troubleshooting, fault isolation, and corrective action management for problems with P25 IP radio equipment (e.g., radio repeaters, dispatch consoles, servers), the network (e.g., routers and IP addresses), circuits (e.g., T1s, Ethernet links, Fiber links), and radio interference is required. Provide management, modification and correction of the LMR system database in accordance with established system-wide policy. Work with First Responders and LMR managers in implementation of talk group modifications, roaming privileges, and usersrsquo privilege settings, in addition to, assisting with troubleshooting RNEC-Client LMR Radio and Tower systems issues utilizing on-site and remote methodologies.SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Review, monitor and assist in installation, modification and rehabilitation of LMR systems. Evaluate requirements and operations for improved effectiveness, responsiveness, and economic benefits. Monitors, reports and tracks system utilization, tenant users, and radio programming including interfacing with vendors and installers for problems under warranty. Program and reprogram radios, dispatch consoles for users and test radios for day-to-day operations, exercises, and special events. Develop radio and console "personalities to satisfy the usersrsquo requirements. Participate in customer meetings, conferences, and staff visits to Regional Network Enterprise Center-National Capital Region (RNEC-Client) sites as well as serving as subject matter experts to Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ), Navy, vendors, etc. regarding radio operations training for First Responders and RNEC-Client personnel at various sites. ExperienceKnowledge Knowledge to assists the Government in developing the LMR Communications, Management, Testing, Key management and Maintenance and Disaster Recovery plans. Provide input on cost estimates, budgets, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and processes as well as enterprise level operational directives, policies, and contingency plans for subordinate installations relating to Tower and LMR management. Maintain and update LMR "as-built documentation, technical drawings and diagrams. Education and Experience AssociatesTechnical Degree in related field is equivalent to 1 year of experience BSBA in related field is equivalent to 2 years of experience. Active military service can be substituted for experience, and is dependent on length of service and Military Occupational Specialty. OTHER REQUIREMENTS CertificationsTraining Active Secret Security Clearance is required. Two (2) to five (5) years of experience providing support to collaborative computing implementation, troubleshooting, and network maintenance support Harris Corporation P25 IP Radio Programming and Maintenance Training and experience on Harris or Client radios (Required). CompTIA, Security+ CE (Required) CompTIA, Network+ (Desired) As a condition of employment, the individual must possess a valid driverrsquos license and be able to travel to tower-sites multiple times a week (Company vehicle provided for these trips) CertificationsTraining Candidate must possess the following certifications in order to meet the DoD Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II Information Assurance (IA) RequirementApplicant must have and maintain at least one of the following Information Assurance (IA) certifications prior to beginning employment CompTIA, Security+ ce (Desired) CISCO, Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA-Security) GIAC, Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) ISC2, System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)Applicant must also have at least one of the following Computing Environment (CE) certifications within 180 days from hisher start date Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Windows Server 2012 Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Server InfrastructureApproved training may suffice for actual certification.Physical Demands Must be available on an on-call basis to provide immediate in the event of an on-line system failure or other demands as required Some heavy lifting may be required Candidate must be available on an on-call basis to provide immediate assistance in the event of an on-line system failure or other demands as required Work is performed primarily in an office setting, computer operations, telecommunications center, telephone closets, electrical distribution centers, panels, hallways, and tower sites dispersed within the National Capital Region.
