Junior Cyber Security / Computer Network Defense Analyst

LinQuest is seeking a Jr. Computer Network Defense Analyst to provide Computer Network Defense (CND) support services for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Digital Networks Applications Department located at Patuxent River, Maryland.The CND Analyst monitors, responds, investigates, documents, remediates, and reports on events, incidents, or actions that impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the network to include its systems and data defending all against cyber-attack and other unintended actions from all sources. An active Secret clearance is required.Responsibilities:Use data collected from a variety of CND tools (including intrusion detection system logs, firewall and network traffic logs, and host system logs) to analyze eventsAnalyze alerts from the network environment (NE) or enclave and determine possible causesCoordinate with network enclave/environment staff to validate network alertsCharacterize and analyze network traffic to identify anomalous activity and potential threatsMonitor external data sources (e.g. vendors, Computer Emergency Response Teams, SANS, Security Focus) to maintain currency of CND threat condition and impact on the NE or enclavePerform development of signatures, which can be implemented on CND network tools in response to network observed threats within the NE or enclavePerform event correlation using information gathered from a variety of sources within the NE or enclave to gain situational awareness and determine the effectiveness of an observed attackNotify CND managers, CND incident responders, and other CND-SP team members of suspected CND incidents and articulate the events history, status, and potential impactRequired Skills and Experience:Associate's DegreeIAM Level 1 (One of the following: Security+ CE, Certification Authorization Professional, Certified Network Defender, Cloud+, Global Info Assurance Certification Security Leadership Certificate)1-3 years of Information Assurance (IA) or Cyber Security experienceRisk Management Framework (RMF) experience is required.Demonstrated ability to deliver technically correct, timely and quality productsExcellent oral and written communications skillsAbility to multi-task and rapidly turn products in a dynamic environmentProficiency with MS Office SuiteAbility to work independently, or under the general direction of managementAn active Secret clearance is required to be considered for this positionPreferred Skills and Experience:Experience with providing support in a military/government environmentExperience with Naval Air Warfare Center customers
