IT Manager I - ITS Physical Infrastructure This position will be primarily responsible for the leading the physical infrastructure team, which maintains the structured cabling, power, cooling, and rack elevations in all ITS closets and datacenters. In this role, he/she will be part of the ITS Infrastructure Leadership Team and will collaborate with internal customers, facilities, vendors as well as within ITS to ensure the physical infrastructure is properly built and maintained to support current and future ITS hardware.This role requires a strong focus on detail, customer service, ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment, exceptional communication, ability to build strong relationships with internal customers, and on-time delivery on both operational and project objectives. What You'll Do: Provide strong leadership, technical guidance, direction, and overall management of assigned team. Responsible for ensuring team follows stated strategy and objectives to support program execution and goals. Provide exceptional customer service, clear communication and consistently follow-up on issues and projects as required. Establish, define, and communicate effective roles and responsibilities and associated performance expectations for assigned team. Prioritize and communicate ongoing activities and projects, goals, and objectives. Develop clearly defined standards and documentation for structured cabling and IT physical spaces including power, space, and cooling. Develop and document the process and procedures for consistent and effective infrastructure management, methodologies, and standards. Responsible for holding teams accountable to stated process and procedures. Position staff for success, provide coaching and career development. Participate as a management team member to champion Operational Excellence goals and objectives. Develop and implement processes and procedures and ensure they consistent and repeatable. Maintain strong relationships with providers/vendors to maximum service. Responsibilities include planning, design, documentation, management, and maintenance of the following: Structured cabling within current and future datacenters and telecom/network closets Single mode fiber, Multi-mode fiber, Cat6 ethernet Power, space, and cooling of all data centers and telecom/network closets Rack elevations within current and future datacenters and all telecom/network closets New construction design and requirements for structured cabling, rack elevations, power, and cooling. ITS equipment installation and documentation in current and future datacenters and telecom/network closets Vendor management for all structured cabling Work closely with facilities on power, space, and cooling of ITS rooms ITS MAC Process Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. Perform other duties as necessary. What You'll Need: BS/BA in related field plus 8 years or more related experience. Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. Exceptional customer service, accountability, professionalism, and interpersonal skills. Continuous improvement mindset. Strong critical thinking skills that results in effective decision making and priority setting. Strong leadership and management skills to set direction, create goals in alignment with business requirements and timelines, prioritize operational and project tasks, and enforce accountability. Strong technical skills in area of network infrastructure. Strong foundation in establishing and managing to an Operational Excellence level of rigor and discipline. Strong vendor management skills. Interface with external vendors accordingly to ensure documented. Expectations are met and address all issues in a timely manner. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels of the organization. Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required. A current DoD clearance and/or SCI access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position, however applicant must be willing and eligible for submission within 60-90 days after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.
