Infrastructure and Security Manager Description The Infrastructure Managerrsquos role is to plan, organize, and manage staff and overall operations to ensure the stable operation of the organizationrsquos IT infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, selection of appropriate security solutions, and oversight of any vulnerability audits and assessments supporting. Optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, and telecommunications systems. The Infrastructure Manager will also schedule and direct activities to resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion. Responsibilities Strategy Planning Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements. Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for infrastructure administration and project management. Participate in the development of IT strategies in collaboration with the executive team. Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts. Establish service level agreements with business units. Create and maintain the enterprisersquos Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan, where appropriate Create and maintain the enterprisersquos security documents (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures). Acquisition Deployment Prepare RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports, and other documentation for infrastructure projects and associated efforts. Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure-specific products and services. Assist with the planning and deployment of infrastructure security measures. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the IT security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes and the development of new attacks and threat vectors. Select and acquire additional security solutions or enhancements to existing security solutions to improve overall enterprise security as per the enterprisersquos existing procurement processes. Oversee the deployment, integration and initial configuration of all new security solutions and of any enhancements to existing security solutions in accordance with standard best operating procedures generically and the enterprisersquos security documents specifically. Operational Management Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all infrastructure systems, including LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, security, wireless implementations, and so on. Conduct feasibility studies for various upgrade projects, improvements, and other conversions. Define hardware and software standards in conjunction with owners and stakeholders. Test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports develop strategies for maintaining network infrastructure. Manage operational costs conduct near- and long-term financial forecasts for expanded functionalityuser base. Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organizationrsquos executives, decision-makers, stakeholders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent infrastructure activities. Practice IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation. Direct and administrate a contingent of network analysts and technicians, and where necessary, conduct performance reviews and corrective action. Ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the data residing on or transmitted tofromthrough enterprise workstations, servers and other systems and in databases and other data repositories. Supervise all investigations into problematic activity and provide on-going communication with senior management. Supervise the design and execution of vulnerability assessments, penetration tests and security audits. Perform regular security awareness training for all employees to ensure consistently high levels of compliance with enterprise security documents. Engage in ongoing communications with peers in the Systems and Networking groups as well as the various business groups to ensure enterprise wide understanding of security goals, to solicit feedback and to foster co-operation. Position Requirements Formal Education Certification Four-year university degree or college diploma in the field of computer science andor equivalent work experience. Certifications desirable Knowledge Experience 5 years experience managing and delivering infrastructure design and operational excellence. Familiar with security frameworks NIST, CIS Top 20 and HIPPAHITECH standards. Exceptional knowledge of service and application delivery, cloud computing (AWS) as well as successful service level agreement accomplishments. 1 to 3 years successful leadership of an infrastructure team or equivalent. Hands-on experience in troubleshooting hardware, network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (Solarwinds, Logicmonitor, and Meraki). Understanding of firewalls, network routing, VPN and VoIP Communications Knowledge of current protocols and standards, including Cisco IOS, IP, TCPIP, BGP and OSPF. Solid background in network administration, vendor management, security and architecture Working technical knowledge of eSet, WAF, ALB, Sophos, Microsoft Azure, ADAD Connect, DHCP, DNS, Desktop Central Personal Attributes Ability to make sound and logical judgments. Demonstrated leadership and personnelproject management skills. Good understanding of the organizationrsquos goals and objectives. Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to perform general mathematical calculations for the purpose of creating needs assessments, budgets, and so on. Able to conduct research into issues and products as required. Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
