SoHo Dragon represents an Investment Bank with offices in Midtown, Manhattan. Our client needs to hire an Infrastructure Operations Engineer for longer term project based work. The initial contract will be for 12 months. Interview will be a Phone Screen followed by a Face-to-Face interview. Certifications in VMWare, Cisco UCS and or NetApp are STRONGLY PREFERRED Job Summary:The Infrastructure Operations Engineer I is responsible for monitoring, re-mediating and reporting of multiple different Infrastructure items. The main technologies include compute, storage and visualization (server and desktop). This person will work closely with the internal team and other automation, monitoring and ticketing teams.Major Responsibilities:Responsible to perform daily health checks of core infrastructure components with remediation or escalation to other team membersWork with monitoring team to ensure that all alerts are accurate and have applicable workflows/runbooksWork with management to create reports and dashboardsResponsible to create automation from workflows and modify adjust automation as neededResponsible for resource allocation to virtual machines and storage infrastructureResponsible for patching of all the Microsoft systems, and ensure we follow IT standards and security policiesManage the Virtualization/Storage/Compute Support queue, and deal with escalations from both internal and external teams and act as subject matter expert in VMware, NetApp and Cisco UCSReceive and respond to incoming calls, pages, and/or e-mails regarding all technologiesResponsible for automating manual tasks using new or existing tool setsResponsible to ensure all regulated items like SOX backups are successful and in working orderPerform root cause analysis for production incidents.Promote a DevOps culture within Bank. Driving automation and a root cause culture to improve our overall environmentKeep system documentation and playbooks up to date and accurateDeveloping tools and processes to improve the overall user experienceTriage security exceptions with security teamSkills: Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field2+ years relevant work experienceCertifications in VMware, Cisco UCS and/or NetAppHigh level scripting in multiple languages to be able to create and debug scripts to perform job functions. Automation experience in at least one configuration management and deployment tools such as Puppet or AnsibleStrong fundamental knowledge of supporting technologies, including Network, Hardware, Virtualization and other enterprise softwareAbility to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasksExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMust work well in a high-pressure environment and keep cool under stress.Must be a self-starter and able to follow-up from issue to resolution.Software:VMware Suite including:vSphere (vcenter and esxi)HorizonvRealize SuiteSRMNetApp Suite:Data OnTap 9.xOnCommand InsightCloud Volumes (Azure)Cisco UCSRubrik / Commvault / NetBackupWindows / LinuxLakesideOpsRampTools to monitor system performanceMS office suiteOutlookVisioTrading applicationsAcrobatPowerShell scriptingLocation: New York/New JerseyApply for This Job
