DescriptionAn Infrastructure Management Technician - IMT is a key to customer satisfaction and loyalty. This highly regarded position is responsible for installation, commissioning, scheduled and emergency service of Real Time Monitoring products offered by Vertiv. Real Time Monitoring products include SiteScan, Trellis, Alber, Nform, Intellislot Cards, Rack Monitoring Solutions and Remote Monitoring offerings. The IMT is required to establish, promote and maintain excellent rapport with all customers, co-workers, sales representatives and others as appropriate. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Be the customer interface for all Monitoring related solutions. Perform a number of work related tasks according to company guidelines, to include but not limited to: Customer needs analysis Solution identification System Startup Preventative Maintenance services Emergency services Render onsite and phone assistance to customers. Utilize remote diagnostic enablement tools in order to increase productivity and reduce MTTR. Communicate with Technical Support and product teams on equipment or system issues. Implement Field Change Notices according to published guidelines Keep current on Safety Bulletins, Safety Field Change Notices, Field Change Notices, and Service Tips. Conduct and deliver customer root cause analysis reports. Ensure findings and corrective actions are communicated to manufacturing quality, engineering, and suppliers. Work closely with other functional groups and provide technical expertise and recommendationsRequirements Education: BSCIT, BSEE/BSEET - preferred As an alternative, an Associates electrical/electronic/IT technical degree with equivalent training and minimum of two years of experience in the f following areas: Interacting with customers in a Technical Support role Working directly with high-reliability hardware and/or software systems Work Experience: Minimum two years experience in computer, networking, or electronic monitoring and control fields Working knowledge of computers regarding hardware, operating systems and applications (Including troubleshooting, installation and operation of Windows, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, Linux, Novell and other required operating systems) Strong knowledge of data communications technologies, including: o Network devices o LANs, WANS o T1, modem, and other legacy communications systems Minimum two years equivalent industry experience in BAS / BMS systems / Electronic Monitoring systems Strong knowledge of typical monitoring protocols: Modbus, RS232, RS422, RS485, and BACnet, SNMP and network protocols. Working knowledge of at least one leading building controls vendor Beneficial Knowledge (Plus Items): Working knowledge of Wireshark or similar communications troubleshooting tools. Working knowledge of transducers and programmable logic controllers and their application. Working knowledge of computer scripting languages (e.g. Java, Python, VB/VBA) Experience with Battery monitoring and battery technology. Experience in Data Center, Telecommunications, and similar environments Experience with UPS and/or HVAC systems. WORKING CONDITIONS: Proactive, fast paced and high profile environment.
