We have an exciting opportunity available for you to join us as an Infrastructure Maintenance and Minor Works Manager. You will be based in Ipswich joining us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £48,275 per annum.
Suffolk Highways is a flagship collaboration between Suffolk County Council and Kier Highways Ltd, that delivers a range of local highway services in Suffolk.
The Infrastructure Management Team comprises 109 staff who are collectively responsible for influencing and embedding highway asset management strategies, the commissioning of annual works programmes and ensuring the safety of the highway network for those living in and visiting Suffolk.
About the Infrastructure Maintenance and Minor Works Manager role:
This exciting and challenging opportunity requires an innovative and forward-thinking manager who will be responsible for managing highway asset inventory and condition data, statutory safety inspections and the commissioning of minor infrastructure improvement and maintenance works.
Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure and Asset Management, you will be a proven leader with significant demonstrable experience of management within a local highway authority context. You will use these experiences and industry knowledge to drive improvements within your area of responsibility as well as positively contributing across Suffolk Highways and the broader Growth, Highways and Infrastructure directorate.
What we are looking for in our ideal Infrastructure Maintenance and Minor Works Manager:
You will have the expertise and ambition to research, contribute to and exploit emerging technologies, with a particular focus on how highway asset data is collected and stored, ensuring these are appropriately used to augment Suffolk Highways' asset management approach.
Additionally, you will be a competent communicator with a focus on customer service and provide customer-centric leadership across your area of responsibility; supporting high quality communications across the Infrastructure Management service area and the Growth, Highways and Infrastructure directorate.
This organisation positively encourages the use of technology to communicate and engage, but in this role you will need to operate across a wide and rural area, so you must either hold a full and current driving licence and have access to personal transport or meet the mobility requirements of the role through other reasonable and suitable means.
