Join MITRE's Soldier Capabilities department and work with engineers, scientists, military experts, and technology providers with a common vision of becoming the industry-leading innovator of combat and training capabilities for optimal sustained Soldier effectiveness, lethality, survivability, and readiness. Generally, project tasks fall beneath the following domains: research and analysis, requirements engineering, systems engineering, systems architecture, systems design, proof of concept development, test development, systems monitoring and troubleshooting.Specific tasks will vary with current project demands, but will likely include some / many of the following: Performing the duties of an Infrastructure Scrum Master or Product Owner in a multi-disciplinary environment with MITRE peers, Government sponsors, industry, academia, and research institutions; participate and lead agile ceremonies with development and operations teams to plan and monitor development of infrastructure capabilities; agile requirements development; provide infrastructural design reviews and feedback to vendors; researching and assisting with implementation of infrastructure prototypes to demonstrate proof of concept capabilities; researching and testing new technology to be used in support with training; researching and transitioning training applications to new infrastructure; architecture development; design, recommend, and implement infrastructure changes to increase system performance and scalability; design and implement solutions to integrate training platforms with external DoD systems; develop infrastructure as code (IaC) scripts to automate the installation and patching of infrastructure; create and lead the execution of processes for developing IaC scripts; travel to sites to lead personnel in the process of updating or standing up new systems; automated test development; participate and lead system scalability tests; update system monitoring dashboards to improve the visibility of system health and performance; monitor and troubleshoot system performance issues; complete DevOps feedback loop by providing vendors information on root cause of system performance issues so the system can be enhanced; troubleshooting network access to applications; setting up infrastructure, computers, networks to run experiments and multi-user simulations; editing and formatting technical documents; agile test and evaluation, planning/executing/collecting/analyzing information from technical and warfighter/user assessments of solutions; develop engineering products, white papers, and briefings, and deliver presentations to sponsors that summarize engineering research and analysis findings/recommendations.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, or Related STEM Disciplines.At least 3 years of work experience with VMware technologies such as vSphere and NSXExperience with Windows and Linux operating systems.Superior written and oral communication and team collaboration skills are essential.The candidate must be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.PreferredQualifications:Posses an active DoD Top Secret ClearanceVMware Certified ProfessionalExperience with Cisco Systems ProductsExperience with firewall and networking technologies such as F5Experience with high performance data storage capabilities such as NetAppExperience with Tower and AnsibleExperience working within an agile development team.Experience with container technology such as Docker and KubernetesExperience with Grafana, InfluxDB, Prometheus, or other similar systems monitoring toolsPossession of a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret clearanceThis requisition requires the following clearance(s):SecretMITRE is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
