As Bodymatter's Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the important role of overseeing the development, deployment, uptime, and reliability of our backend cloud infrastructure systems. You have years of experience with Linux, Amazon Web Services, databases, automated deployments, Python, and networking. Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience and high proficiency in developing, maintaining, and ensuring uptime/reliability of Amazon Web Services powered cloud infrastructure including DynamoDB, S3, RDS, Auto Scaling, EC2, ECS, AMI, EBS, Lambda, SQS, SES, Lambda Triggers, CloudWatch
  • 4+ years experience and high proficiency with Linux including command line, shell scripting, compilers, file system permissions
  • 3+ years experience overseeing the scale-up, optimization, and uptime reliability of cloud databases such as DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, RDS
  • 3+ years Python software development experience
  • 3+ years experience overseeing the automated deployment of cloud infrastructure and application codebases using Docker or AWS ECR
  • 3+ years experience networking and securing cloud infrastructure using VPN, DNS, IP, AWS IAM, Route 53, HTTPS, SSH, API Gateway

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing automated cloud infrastructure deployments with Fabric
  • 3+ years Django web framework software development experience
  • Amazon Linux
  • Proficiency with Unix on MacOS including command line, shell scripting, compilers, file system permissions

Roles & responsibilities may include

  • Overseeing the uptime and service reliability of all backend cloud server infrastructure and its application-level codebases
  • Developing new cloud server infrastructure and backend services
  • Developing Python and/or Django-powered APIs and application code
  • Developing, documenting and versioning backend APIs consumed by front-end clients
  • Overseeing the deployment of all backend infrastructure application-level code
  • Identifying and fixing infrastructure security vulnerabilities
  • Developing and maintaining automated deployment tools for backend infrastructure and application code
  • Working with management to set backend cloud infrastructure budget and performance targets
  • Continually identifying and implementing cloud infrastructure optimizations, performance improvements, and cost-savings to meet infrastructure budget and performance targets
  • Developing, maintaining, and running infrastructure test scripts for quality assurance validations
  • Identifying, investigating, and fixing infrastructure and backend application bugs
  • Engaging and collaborating with cross functional management and teams to address and solve project issues and obstacles
  • Being highly accessible and responsive on slack Monday through Friday during normal business hours. While team work is mainly performed on the weekdays, from time to time you may need to perform work on the weekends to meet your deadlines, to fulfill your responsibilities, and as may be requested by management.
