Infrastructure Design Specialist (RFP)
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, IT, or related field OR associate degree in computer science, IT, or related field plus 2 years job-related experience OR 4 additional years of job-related work experience
  • Ability to obtain a low-level U.S. security clearance, which requires a thorough background screening and U.S. citizenship
  • 8 years of technical experience or other job-related IT experience with at least 6 years of infrastructure experience
  • 3 years of experience addressing and responding to the complex functional elements of RFPs/information and infrastructure design representation during the request for proposal process
  • Familiarity with data centers and storage, backup solutions, facilities, cabinets, floor space, etc.
  • Experience working directly with vendors, customers, and integration engineers
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with a wide variety of IT technologies and security solutions
  • Strong understanding of software and licensing models
  • Ability to work in a high pressure/fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented and able to prioritize work and respond quickly
  • Analytical and math oriented; ability to work on spreadsheets
  • Excel and Visio experience
Responsibilities:
  • Provides infrastructure design representation during the request for proposal (RFP) process
  • Addresses and responds to the complex functional elements of RFPs/information
  • Writes and creates cost proposals/models based on customer requirements
  • Works with customers and vendors and their applications and how they integrate into the environment
  • Determines the setting of technical direction based on interaction with the architectural staff
  • Communicates designed solutions to infrastructure deployment areas
  • Designs infrastructure solutions within set architectural framework, ensuring cost effectiveness and enforcement of architectural standards
  • Captures and documents business/technical requirements by communicating with customers
  • Completes infrastructure estimating and consultation
  • Reviews high-level estimates to determine infrastructure impact and to provide estimation of hours required for the assignment
  • Performs technical oversight/review and approval of less experienced team members and their work
